Did anyone here the comments on the BBC during the highlights at half time of the Man U match? The guy said that several Premiership 'B' teams had been knocked out by lower league opposition, followed by a discussion on why Prem teams were resting players to save the for the league!! Well someone tell me if I'm wrong but that was near as damn it Brum's 1st team today and if anything we had more players missing!! The media really piss me off when they report like this and it just adds more fuel to the fire of the 'devaluing the FA Cup' debate!!

Birmingham made only one change from the one that played MU

I think the Premiership 'B' teams remark was due to the fact that 3 of the 4 that got knocked out were Bolton, Blackburn and Birmingham.
From comments on the Birmingham site, both they and Everton put out strong sides. In Birmingham's case their team was their strongest.

Well hopefully if it's featured on Match Of The Day there'll show the teams, and mention that it's Birmingham's first team ...

I'd put that down to typical lazy TV punditry. I doubt that any of them would have a clue what team anyone, other than in the game they were watching, put out today.

They didn't actually mention Birmingham in that discussion did they? They were more referring to the likes of Villa & Blackburn who were more likely to get into Europe through the League than by winning the FA Cup and so they fielded weaker teams. That's who I thought they were talking about anyway

Like I say tho this is what fuels comments like those of Kitson about how they are not bothered about the FA Cup anymore.
Kitson should know better and remember where he came from!!!
Hopefully Match of The Day will put everyone straight!!!!

They don't do B teams, they do squads...... The cost of one of Brums team today (which was packed with foreigners) would have bought the entire town team with change left over for a bag of chips....... also we had 6 home grown players in our side....

I think it was Mike green who said it immediately after mentioning Birmingham and Everton getting beat. We had virtually half a team out as well. Clarke, Worthington, Jevons and Booth would be 1st choice. I hope it's not right about Boothy breaking a toe.

What they were saying Lily was that it was not know just the big teams that were doing this, but those around mid table and even those around the bottom, when the FA Cup is probably their only chance of doing something!!
That's how I heard it anyway!!

My 7 year old glanced through the programme today and saw some of the prices of their players. He suggested that we should sub Beckett for Jevons and sign Messi in time to bring him on during the second half.
