Thank god he didn't start commentating. Maybe, very affable guy to talk to though. He knows how a midfield 3 should work judging from his comments on the box on Sunday night. Certainly a lot different from the way ours played on Saturday!

Team : Allinson, Wilkinson, Carroll, Duane Holmes, Wright, Boyle (Captain), Tronstad, Billing, Kennedy, Pyke and Booty. Subs Ben Holmes, Guthrie, Atkinson, Horsfall and Bojaj. Lost 2 nil to a much more composed and confident Wendies side. Deja Vu from last nights performance as we struggled to close down players and get hold of the ball often enough in this game. On the plus side Duane Holmes was industrious however wasted the best chance in the second half when one on one with their keeper. Tronstad looked good in midfield and put some good challenges in however for me the most composed player was Tom Kennedy who wasted little and created a good number of chances only for them to be wasted. He played left back in the second half and was very composed and in my recollection not beaten at any stage. On the down side Pyke struggles to head a ball and like many others was out muscled and outplayed by a confident Wendies defence and midfield. Also I cannot believe how bad we are at getting in good crosses and corners which mostly failed to beat the first defender. Billing was taken off at half time which could mean he travels to Bournmouth however he like others did not have an outstanding game. Its clear that now a good number have moved up to this level we are no longer unbeatable.

Amidst all the doom and gloom, the U21's have today won 1-0 at Barnsley with Jake Charles netting the only goal, assisted by Duane Holmes.

I'd genuinely start Boyle and Billing on Saturday, with Charles on the bench. Would serve many purposes, one being that it'd give some first team players a kick up the arse.

I dont think saturday is the right time to put them in but I definitely think they'll get some time in the last 6 or so games as long as we are comfortable.

Two shocking performances, a streamlined squad, some injuries, a relatively comfortable league position, and against a lower league opposition I'd say it's the perfect time!

A yorkshire Derby, a must win game to turn around form and the attitude of the fans and an opportunity to move up the league a couple of places including above leeds (which as sad as it is, is something we can aim to do in the league table) Boyle at left back I think could be more likely but only if Robinson is injured because he hasn't been one of the weaker players and then your bypassing Carroll. Even though Billing is impressing in the u21s who is gonna be dropped? Certainly not Hogg, and if you play him in the attacking midfield position you overlook Majewski which confirms his move here being completely pointless.

Agree there is little room for Billing at the moment. Boyle is a must on Sat (provided Lynch and Robbo are out, and I expect they will be). With every poor performance the arguments for not playing these lads are less and less convincing. For instance Coady has something to prove and if he doesn't step up then Billing must be considered as our box to box type midfielder

I'd hardly say there's little room for Billing when Edgar got played in his position in the last game. That should never be happening again
