Good luck to them all. Bit surprised about Porritt, always thought he was a decent player, got up and down well. Hope he proves the wrong somewhere else. Cogill is a good player as is Warde. Spencer is u18 captain I think. The one that always puts a foot in and probably the only one that will have a go at the ref. Hopefully once Bunn gets hold of them they all improve and push for regular u21 starts because Wagner is taking the u21 through to the first team.

Only saw the 90.
Poor performances from Hiwula and Bojaj. Not looking like natural scorers, the pair did themselves no favours in front of the watching Wagner. Bojaj in particular appears to have no right foot, which severely limits his options.
I've never seen Booty play so well for the u18s as he did yesterday for the 21s, spraying the ball around like Jonjo Shelvey.
Jack Senior put in a decent shift. Duane Holmes was buzzing about to good effect. Town's two centre backs coped well against Charlton's physicality. Hanson showed promise and did well to win the penalty.
A game to forget for Charles. Coughlan was hit and miss.
I've seen Ryan many times for the 18s. Very agile. Great shot stopper. Needs to be more confident on his distribution but that will come.

I managed to drop into Town for the last eight game v a very impressive Charlton Athletic. If it had been a league game, both teams would have probably settled for a 1-1. But it was far more important than that! HTAFC won by the slenderest of margins with 'keeper Ryan my MOTM ! Here are some images for those of you with an interest in these things. Bring on the semi-final !! www.flickr.com/photos/l09c/24619536670/in/dateposted-public/

Just as a matter of interest, what's that wire fencing in front of the Kilner Bank stand about?

I am not sure how old he is. I have always thought that the way to progress the youngsters is to get them playing u21s football at an age where they still qualify for the u18s. That was the case for most of the 13 used on Monday. www.htafc.com/team/player-profile/danny-kaneAnswering my own question he is 18 and is signed on but too old for the academy by a few months.

Teams left in the competition: - West Ham - Liverpool v Everton/Brighton - Millwall v Hull
Beaten Millwall 0-2 already this season, and had a couple of close games v Hull winning one and losing one. Whoever they get hopefully we can get a home tie and get plenty down to support.

Poor result for U18's today, especially as Wendies scored their second when they were down to ten men.

Has it been posted that Liam Coogans (contracted to end of this season with an option for another season) has left Town?

Well done to the under 18's against Barnsley this morning. Now lets have a derby double by beating Leeds in the under 21's on Monday.

In answer to a previous post on here, Allinson hasn't been playing because he injured his hand at Sheff Utd a week last Monday. Ryan has been really good as his replacement. I went to Leyland on Monday night against Bolton and he was excellent there, as was the whole of the defence. They played very solid as a unit. I do like the look of our two full backs Hanson and Senior in particular.

Not the best performance but still an entertaining battle. Both teams had chances to win it but a draw was a fair result. Holmes and Hanson impressive for Town.

I thought that Luke Coddington, the 'keeper on trial from Middlesborough was impressive.

Have to say it was a very entertaining game with some great goals. Being honest I thought Leeds had the better often play and were more physical than us. In saying that Hiwulu could have won it for Town and hit the post rather than scoring a golden opportunity. I agree that for us Hanson and Holmes were our best players however I was disappointed with Hiwulu who hardly found a town player with a pass and needs to put himself about much more. I was really impressed with Leeds number 9 Mulhern who is an old fashioned hustling bustling centre forward who rarely put a foot wrong. There stand out player Lewis Walters came on as a sub and caused us no end of problems up front. All in all I think we should be happy with a draw as at one point in the second half they seemed to be pressing us really hard.

The keeper has either been here a while or is a quick learner, knew all the names and seemed to know the system. Holmes had a decent game, Hanson was rewarded for a right lung busting run with the first goal, good work from Holmes. Thought they were the better side throughout. Not sure who they were without, the only one I could think of from the game at Thorp Arch was Irwen up front, but the no.9 had a far better game than he did in the return fixture. We were missing Coughlan, Kane, Boyle, Bojaj. Thought Spencer did okay for an u18, like his commitment and he's not scared to wind folk up. Hiwula has no chance of the first team on the two appearances I've seen. Harries a bit but never actually challenges or gets a foot in. Charles is a bit soft in that respect too. Two great strikes by their no.8 for the goals, outplayed for the most part but got a draw, could have been a different game if the ref had the balls to send their keeper off when he scuffed a clearance then rugby tackled Pyke so he couldn't tap it in. Bizarre he didn't even blow for a foul. Could have booked Phillips for some lunges that didn't quite connect but would have injured if they had too. Senior was quiet today but by heck we've got a couple of good footballing prospects at full back. Off to thaw out.
