Dont remember hearing of Tadhg Ryan before. Is there a vowel missing from his first name? Looks like there should be another one in there

Good reporting on the Charlton version of DATM.
I'm still surprised that Billing isn't playing (yes, I've read what you wrote) and that Allinson isn't playing either. Injured? He looked comfortable against Saints.

We shaded it for me, charlton strong first ten mins& they scored then after equaliser we got on top missed more chances than them. Had to leave on 90mins so chuffed to bits we win on pens and 17yr old Reagan booty nets winner!!! What a player this lad could be UTT

Just got back. Was going to start my own thread but realised I'm not Nick. Thought that was poor and we are very lucky to be in the semis. Too many average performances against a strong and quick Charlton team. If their number nine had any sort of shooting boots on then penalties wouldn't have been needed. MOM between Ryan, Booty and Senior for me. Three quality saves from Ryan, a very good quarterback performance from Booty, who was absolutely empty at the end and another good solid performance from Senior. He even managed to get booked for one of the best challenges you will see this season. Probably the only thing the ref got wrong. Better than most at first team level. Hopefully a few more folk will start to see that Jack Senior should be given a run in the senior side. I'm not mad, promise you, get him in there. Our two centre halves did okay but their pace and power created quite a few chances, fluffed or skied on most occasions. Holmes was quiet, booked for belting the ball away, spent most of the second half and extra time in front of our centre backs. Coughlan was strangely quiet and Charles had a poor game. Seems to have lost a bit after his injury. Hiwula ran and harried, but did little when he got to their players. Had a great chance first half to send us clear but took the Harry Bunn route and kept his head down and lost the ball. Bojaj huffed and puffed, and missed a couple of very good chances. Both very first team esque, foot through ball, hit keeper. Jack Boyle came on and lost the ball virtually every time he got it, poor, but scored his penalty so you've got to admire his balls. Five well taken pens, Hiwula nailed his into the top corner and Booty finished it off. Lucky. Not Preston lucky but lucky all the same. Onwards to the semis and a better performance.

What a player this lad could be UTT It was mentioned on here a while ago that Booty wasn't a footballer. Tell you what he is the one out of that lot that will go for a lot of money if he keeps his head down. Very comfortable coming back to receive the ball and can give if easy or ping a pass out wide. Good on set pieces and can make a challenge. A player that can make a team tick. A year or so he will be something special.

Booty plays like a Adam clay ton but with more mobility I think, no great pace but intelligent reader of game, a talker & what a left foot. Get him made into a set piece specialist & next season could see him push for first team!! Always thought you can make yourself undropable if you nail the corners& free kicks.

Completely agree. Would love Wagner to say we don't need Husband because we have Senior. Also I mentioned about refs a few weeks back, always seem to do a very good job in the u21s game and I wonder what the criteria is for them to be given an opportunity reffing the pros.

Hansen deserves a mention. I think most of our best moments came when either he or Senior were in the Charlton box. Ironically Booty may have been sub if Billing wasn't required for first team. With the right coaching there are several that can make the step up. At what level that is only time will tell.

Forgot to mention him because they rarely attacked down their left. Did nothing wrong. A year behind Senior but appears physically older. Another one that under this system and with a level head and hard work will be pushing soon.

Also noticed Mick Harford making notes throughout the 90 minutes. Just looked on Wiki to see that he is Luton Town's Chief Recruiting Officer

Thanks PPTerrier. Very helpful. Bring back Big Phil for the semi. Depends first team I guess. In a way I hope not, it will mean he's getting a good run at senior level. Booty and Billing at u21 level though, there won't be many teams with as strong a midfield two as that. It's easy to get excited about players especially after a win but today Booty really shone in a poor ish performance. The sign of a player for me. If you saw them at Saints then you wouldn't have recognised them today, just not at it as much. Conditions? Opposition? Whatever. Sign of a good team hanging in there and doing enough. On another note I said at the game we would have lost that game with Allinson in goal, thought Tadhg Ryan was very good indeed. Can't see Allinson being here next season.

Hansen won us the pen with a run into their box same as the one that got senior his goal in last leg. Both fullbacks progressing nicely senior has lovely touch on ball & seems to think about his crossing and seems quick over fits the 4/5 yards, bit on small side yet tho
