How did he play tonight? Does he look like he could be a regular starter yet?

Very, very quiet first half.
Did okay second half but seemed to lack confidence with the ball.
Wasn't up against much so hard to judge.

He was decent, didn't do anything wrong of note, passed it around quite nicely and made a few good tackles, not a regular starter yet though

Looks solid defensively but not much of a presence going forward, doesn't carry the ball too well
Could be good when we need to be solid defensively away from home because I never trust Dixon positionally

Fairly solid defensively, looked a little reluctant to cross, or attack with the ball, although he did take it forward on numerous occasions.

Didn't put a foot wrong.

Offered nothing going forward. Decent pace but looked frightened to dribble at defenders and put a cross in. Certainly not a left wing back on that showing.

He looked like he doesnt really know what he's doing.
One for the future...he looks to have the athletic ability just needs to grow his footballing brain at the moment.
Bit of a shame really as Dixon looks to have taken a bit of a backward step and we could have done with this lad impressing from the off and solving the problem for the next two or three seasons.
WHERE IS CALLUM WOODS?

As others have said, he's athletic and solid defensively, but looks a bit lost going forward. Hesitant in putting in crosses and didn't really take anyone on, but it's his first start so he was bound to be nervous. Definitely has potential.

Comfortable on the ball, athletic and generally did well. Quiet first half but came into it more in the second half.
Looks a decent prospect and could be first choice next season.

I assume he was just being cautious because he was scared of making a mistake on his debut. But a solid defensive showing, no doubt.

I assume he was just being cautious because he was scared of making a mistake on his debut. But a solid defensive showing, no doubt. I agree with this. Plus, in the first half, yes he was quiet, but that was mainly because non of his team mates would pass to him. He spent ages all alone on the left and every time the ball went out to Hunt, who, to be fair, was also on his own often, on the right. Not surprised when, in the second half, his team mates remembered he was playing, he didn't want to be anything other than careful in case they stopped passing to him again. However when he did get the ball I thought he showed some good touches. Probably not a starter yet though, still quite a bit to learn I feel.

For a young lad making his debut in a derby game, I personally thought he did well. Its a big step up for the lad, and he looked comfortable. Ok he didn't do anything spectacular, like bomb up the wing and leave us exposed at the back, but he is naturally a left back and played to his strengths which has to be commended. The last thing the lad needed was to try whipping balls in and play an attacking role, and make a hash of things, which im sure would have gone down brilliantly with some of the people on here. On what i have seen of him so far, think he could be a quality signing

Very good prospect IMO, much better than I was expecting, didn't look out of his depth and showed good athleticism and touch. From where he's come from keeping it simple and not taking any risks was the right thing to do. I certainly wasn't expecting him to be bombing down the wing and nutmeging the shitty players all night and Im sure Robins wasn't either. Speaking of nutmegs the one from Clayton second half was absolute class!!!

Personally I am delighted to see him at our club because I really see him as a star of the future. Those that judge him now should just consider how long he has been exposed to the limelight. This lad is a 'Wilson gem'

Jake Carroll who's he? According to the two idiots sat behind me last night, his name is jack Collins at left wing back, even had a program between them

Thought he had a pretty decent, if quiet game. Can't remember too much that he did wrong, but to say he's a young guy making his debut in a local derby he was solid enough. Plenty to work on of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see him starting a handful of league games during the course of the season, albeit not on a regular basis, maybe 5-10 league starts max (partly dependent on injuries obviously). Either that or he may go out on loan to get a bit more experience.

Sadford was due to an inexperience that cannot be removed from him immediately The guy is a real asset

Thanks for all the replies. The first few replies seemed a bit negative but, overall, it seems like the lad did pretty well. Considering he's just come from a part-time environment in the ROI, he seems to have settled in very well. The fact that Robins is giving him chances to play so early on in his career at Town suggests he's doing OK. I get the impression he's a pretty bright guy.
