I was delighted with yesterday especially as it is the first time since the Barnsley play-off match (at Oakwell) that I have enjoyed a game and sensed some passion, purpose and determination.
All the players put it in and Holdsworth, Berret, Schofield & Brandon were excellent. Now there's a thing, a midfield that worked!
Despite the euphoria all the issues at the heart of the club remain and I agree with Keiran O'Regan who said we need to push on from here now. Davy's lack of investment in the team over the past 2 years (especially when we could have been promoted) has lead to the inertia we have suffered and indirectly to the Pearson bid he rejected. He is the master of our destiny and he needs to show some propoer leadership now or ship out. He has an opportunity to build on this momentum, failure to do so will lead to more disquiet and the club ebbing away.
Do I think he will do anything, probably not. Do I think he should - DEFINITELY!!
Lets not let one great performance and another cup game distract us from the pitiful management we have all suffered (I include the players and management) in the past two years. Davy has much to do to change things, perhaps now is the time for those "big ambitious plans".
Well done to the players and Andy Ritchie.
