No not the answer to our attacking problems. He's having another meltdown on Twitter. He has gone one step further than Curtis Woodhouse and arranged a fight with some lad who has been mouthing off at him . On a side note, he's still got a soft spot for HTAFC. leon knight ?@leonknight1982 18h “@scotteaglen: @leonknight1982 what's your opinion on Leeds United?” < I played for hudds town so fuck Leeds

That season was probably the most attended on my part, did loads of away games
Easily one of the best players I've seen play for us. I thought he was going to score every time he got the ball. With the right attitude and people around he would have played for England

Cracking player, again too many good memories to dislike him despite how daft it is getting drawn into Twitter spats.
One of the best I saw live also, often forgotten when I'm asked along with Peter Ndlovu who's just come to mind.
Probably the quickest sending off I've seen also.

Ndlovu was ridiculous, now that was what you call a one man team

Fond memories of Ndlovu dancing around half a dozen players to the tune of 'sign him up, sign him up, sign him up..'

Boothy hatrick in a 3-0 away win. Great night! That's the one!, I nearly wrote Knight had had a hat-trick but you are right, it was Boothy. If I recall, Knight came on as sub and Town were playing towards us behind the goal in the away end. One of his first touches was Knight through one on one with the keeper, his speed having created something out of nothing. He was lightning quick, we all just stood round looking at each other re how quick he was!.

That sending off made him unavailable for the upcoming play-offs as I recall Lost to Brentford over two legs and headed for meltdown and administration - and years of Ken - and Fight for answers - and total years of mediocrity until last season. Sometimes wonder how we would have gone on if he had not got sent off: Beat Brentford - won play-off final - promoted to 2nd division - Lou Macari retained as manager - promotion to Prem within 3 seasons - top four position a couple of seasons later - Five seasons playing in Champions League I can dream... UTT Wasnt it an accumulation of the red card ban, an accumalation of yellows and something he said to the ref v Blackpool in the paint pot northern final 1st leg that resulted in him missing about 7 games at the end of the season, I think he would have been available for the final Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

Knight was sent off against Oldham, I think. Meant that he missed the play-off games. EDIT: Just checked - yes, sent-off against Oldham which, coupled with his nine previous bookings, meant that he missed the play-offs. On his day, Knight was one of the best I've seen at Town. Wasted talent.

Played in next three league games - Brentford (a) 6/4/02, Cardiff (h) 9/4/02 and Port Vale (h) 13/4/02 - before the ban kicked in. Missed the final league game at Notts County - a 2-1 defeat at Meadow Lane for Town which kept County up in front of a massive crowd - and the two play-off games. * All the details above from '99 Years and Counting'

I have vague memories of Leon Knight and Peter Crouch playing against us for QPR, which was a odd double act.

I'm still amazed that he ever made it as a footballer!

if leon could have had the chip surgically removed from his shoulder and some counselling to remove the small man syndrome he obviously suffered from, he could have been a top player.. he was "unlucky" against Oldham, I think only the lino saw him "snot" one of their centre halves, in truth it looked like he was capable of that foolishness everytime he put a football shirt on...
crouchie managed to become a targetman in spite of his size and obvious awkwardness, someone , somewhere, really worked with him on his ball control and his awareness.. he did look like bambi on ice as a young man... He scored goals for England and was a pain to play against and you cant fault him for that..

Didnt think you could miss his elbow on that Oldham lad. I saw a piece on Joe Cole a couple of years ago where it said him and Leon were the 2 most talented players in the country at their age

just seem to remember that the ball had been cleared by Oldham very early on and then their bloke was on his knees/back?? ball was nowhere near... either their bloke said something or it was a long standing disagreement because I cant remember any incident in the game beforehand, tbh it hadn't been going on long enough... sooooo easy to wind up it seems...

That was also my opinion of Peter Crouch, i remember thinking he was useless and then his career took off!! He may have been useless, but he gave one of the classiest quotes I have ever heard. 'What do you think you would have been if you hadn't become a footballer?' Crouch answers 'A virgin' LOL
