Was never that impressed whilst he was here - very functional but lightweight and conservative......what a difference a couple of years makes though. Looked strong, mobile and positive in everything he did tonight ........if norwood gets his act together he can be likewise. Leicester showed tonight what is needed at this level to succeed.........mentally tough, resilient with flair and pace going fwd and a beast at centre back who is commanding and makes few errors. On top of that a prodigious work rate and hey presto its success!!!!! Over to you senor robins!

If I remember correctly, after the turn of the year in 09/10, he stepped his game up a notch, and you could see the quality he had. A little lightweight, although that was unsurprising given his youth. Quality player.

Although I don't rate him as a manager, it had to be said that Lee Clark had a decent eye for that kind of player in his first year or so.
Shame he went down the Tommy Miller/Joey Gudjonsson/Anthony Kay route after the Millwall play off defeat.

Tidy Player was Danny - always rated him - the only one that Clark got right though I think folks are very harsh with clarks signings - all his experienced lads had done it before at league 1 level and above and there werent too many dissenting voices when they arrived ......kay, joey, miller, kilbane, johnson etc. his biggest failing was never sticking to a formula long enough to allow it to work. Agree re DD - tidy and neat but nothing special for us.....has certainly kicked on since mind.

He played his first bit of 1st team football for us at the age of 19, it isn't surprising that he has kicked on in the 4 years since. You could see the flashes of quality, it just didn't come out all that regularly so early in his career.

I feel the need to respond! You lot hide behind the cushions on the settee , waiting patiently, not commenting, until you see the opportunity to strike an "innocent comment" victim like a shiver of sharks or a cackle of hyenas - Fack me! I now know why I don't come on this site very often and why it's membership is declining - it was a comment about one footballer related to a midfield player, not a bloody winger, or a striker, the rest of the "midfield" (or from my time the halfbacks and inside forwards) he brought in were very average. Different time - different era when we knew what a footballer was - too old for this unnecessary acerbic shit - logging off

Our current midfield lads don't seem to have that in them.

Was a big fan of drinkwater when he was here - really wanted to sign him. wouldnt say he was any more lightweight at the time than you would expect from a youngster in his first pro games. He had more bite then than norwood has now IMO..cant see norwood ever being as good as him - drinkwater much better allrounder.
Would have been helped by a decent partner.

He was quality at town. You could see from the start that he had come through a top class set up and was probably too good for the players he had around him at town. He's shone this season in the Championship but watch him go to another level in the Premiership with Leicester as they add more quality to an already very good team.

Waldorf and Statler and all the 'get it bloody forward Town' members of the crowd, would have had a field day with DD whose main purpose as with Norwood and Clayton(to a lesser extent) used to be to take it off the back four or pass it sideways. I guess with a bit more experience and adapting to the Championship, these players can develop......or is it that or is it that their attributes are appreciated more in better teams!!??

Quality player. Loved his free kick away at Stockport. Great day. That game was less than 4 years ago. We're now 4 divisions higher than Stockport!! (Yeah good day was that, highlight being that little lad who started a pitch invasion )

Derby have just converted £22.5m of loans into equity. Burnley are the exception to the rule, an anomoly folk will be bringing up for years.

Play-offs are always a possibility but money is a huge advantage if a team is going to win automatic promotion.
Only Norwich in recent years have achieved automatic without spending quite a bit or having a hefty wage bill like Leicester.
