..... not about any particular Town player, but the disgusting attitude and performance from the ball boys in front of the Direct Golf. We might be struggling at the minute as a club, but that certainly doesn't give licence to these lads to behave like amateur spoil-sports. Even the 4th official felt the need to tick them off during the game ! Poor advert for our club IMO.

oh come on.... every club uses delaying tactics - mostly involving non co-operation of ball boys.

Ball boys seemed to be working under team orders. A bit tin pot and desperate I agree. At least it looked like we were working to a plan!!

They don't need to be told to go slow, they're a right set of lazy bastards.

Yes the kids shouldn't do it, but it's part of the modern game. I personally thought the ball boys were good.

I hate time wasting however it is prevalent in the modern game. I am fed up of seeing teams come here, take the lead before proceeding to mercilessly waste time by feigning injury, tying laces, kicking the ball away etc. If you can't beat them, join them.

We haven't got enough ball boys anyway, but really, ashamed? Nothing like an overreaction. So what if the 4th official told them off? It's not uncommon for ball boys to deliberately slow things down, either via instructions from the bench/players, or off their own back. Saying it's a poor advert for the club is so daft it's not even funny. I very much doubt peoples impression of the club will be affected in any way by how quick or slow the ball boys are. Long and short of it is get over yourself.

The fourth official didn't go and have a word off his own accord, the Brighton bench asked him to. Let's face it they spent the whole game telling the ref exactly who to book on the pitch, I suppose its to be expected they should exert some control of the off the field stuff too.
Whilst I don't condone what the ball boy's were doing (and on more than one occasion lingard "called the ball boy off" from retrieving the ball to get it himself.....and then moan to the ref), we have all at some time or other been at an away game where the home ball boys have taken the piss. In fact there was no one worse for it than Brighton at the With dean.

After a good response from the team, a measured dig at Scannell and the lack of timely subs the search for a scapegoat reaches a new low...

I thought they were slow getting the ball back against Ipswich when we were losing 0-2!

If the referee thought the ball boys were taking too long then he could just add some time on at the end of the game just like time gets added on for substitutions. The only thing substitutions does these days is break play up, they don't waste any time whatsoever.

I thought they were slow getting the ball back against Ipswich when we were losing 0-2! You weren't alone either. They seem exceptionally slow now and half arsed. Today it just worked in our favour. Don't understand why we have two for the whole away stand but they sit holding hands next to one another and rarely move!

I thought he did, 5 mins in the second half could only have been taking the time wasting into account. There's no denying the ball boys took too long but Brighton have been time wasting if they'd been ahead so fck em, they'd already paid the ref off not to book them anyway

Club aren't happy , first time those lads ave done the 'ball boying' and were specifically told not to sit together, it certainly didn't come from the top and wasn't a contrived tactic...heard we could be fined by football league

Brighton can't complain.
They were diving around all game and also put in some pretty dirty tackles. Their centre back was lucky not to be sent off following the foul on clayton.

centre back wasn't lucky..ref bottled it..his overall performance wasn't good enough. im all for refs giving what they see, not guessing. im all for refs booking players who quite intentionally take out/trip an opponent who has beaten them for pace/skill(its what the game is supposedly about), problem is once you throw about yellow cards for all sorts of minor transgressions you then leave yourself nowhere to hide when a proper foul takes place, like yesterday. its difficult to watch a 6 foot 4 striker fall about and roll around and be given fouls and then watch a big centre half make no attempt to get the ball but just barge through a small striker every single time from behind to be given nothing.. I am still of the opinion that refs don't cheat, I just think that the fa/league and the refs association talk about and will give 'advice' to refs after a spate of reds/yellows. They are dealing with quotas rather than the actual offences and they react to 'spikes' in cards by 'advising' rather than just looking at refs who give out more than average/less than average and possibly identify the problem there. town have played some games this season and previously that had some ugly incidents with none or few cards and games like yesterday where there wasn't much in it to get upset with and lots of cards... ball boys arseing about??? we are rank amateurs in relation to Peterborough of a few years ago...

Ball boys are now the thirteenth man perhaps, after the twelfth man - the crowd.

Typical Robins tactics as players defend in mass after going 1-0 up instead of going for another goal to seal victory and played like a team that had gone down to 9 men . Sooner we get rid of Robins the better as his managerial honours could fit on a postage stamp and why should anything be different next season .

It wasn't a tactic. They forced us back and we couldn't get out.

No room for blatant time wasting of this nature - poor attitude by Town - we are better than this. Also, I felt it sucked all the endeavour out of us; every time Brighton got the ball they wanted to DO something with it, we just looked more & more lethargic, partly as a result of our time wasting.
