If you want to collect money, but you arent a charity and dont want the faff of being accepted on kickstarter, maybe have a look at payitsquare.com I've never used it, but it looks ideal. There are transaction fees, but there would be for any service of this type...and you could encourage people to pay in the most efficient way. Looks like it could be spot on- cheers for the recommendation. Link for those interested: www.payitsquare.com/how-it-works.aspx

Hey guys, if you'll have me, I'd be more than happy to help in any way I can, although I won't be of much use over the next four months as of next sunday. I assume Ben will have mentioned this to some of you in the past, but when me and him were looking at buying a large flag to take in the FM lower, Nigel Clibbens was very helpful, in making sure we didn't buy anything that the safety guys would say no to, and making sure everything was kosher, fire safety-wise. He was totally behind the idea of getting some stuff in the FM lower to 'HTFC' it up a bit. I don't know anything about any other websites, but footballflags.co.uk were helpful with us when we asked for a sample fire certificate, and there prices seem quite fair, there's plenty of options size-wise, and it seems easy enough to upload your own designs, or use the design tool on their site. I don't want to poo-poo the idea of crowdfunding any flags/banners etc, but when we tried to do it on the main board, we were on a hiding to nothing, however it may work better on here with a smaller group, who are more enthusiastic about the idea.

Dont take this the wrong way, but wasnt the issue then that it simply got talked about ad infinituum but there was no actual way of pledging to a pot...so folk got bored and other folk just started posting random flag designs. If someone actually establishes a fund with a general theme for its purpose...and people started paying, the focus would soon ramp up once some proper money started to come in, and people would be able to DO stuff or make requests for money little projects etc instead of just talking about it

I totally agree with this. Instead of coming back to the board with every tiny idea we need to establish a core group who meet every once and a while who are proactive and come up with solutions to the many problems presented by the club... That's if we are actually serious about this rather then a passing thing.

Am on it now mate. Initial look at pay it square looks to be similar to other crowdfunders. Around a 7% fee. Is this definitely as cheap as we are gonna get? If anyone knows of better please shout out...

I could set up a twitter account now if u want got some spare time?? Is it perhaps worth waiting for us to establish a bit better before doing the twitter/fb accounts? Maybe get a better feel for how we want to present the 'group' etc? Great that you're up for it though

Yeah, lets not have a headrush, we've got all summer to get this right, no point burning everybodies enthusiasm out for it before we've even started.
Once Bolts get's that funding site sorted, we can look at the flag ideas for starters.

No. The fees at the top are for people using PayPal but paying with a debit/credit card rather than from Paypal balance or bank transfer. www.payitsquare.com/about/faq/money/paypal-fees.aspx

Its *great* to see scoffsablue taking his position on the ATT panel seriously, and canvassing for input from other panel members rather than just going in as an individual with his own agenda, as I can only assume everyone else in the ATT panel is whilst they remain largely anonymous and only representative of their selves. I THOUGHT that thats (the way scoffsablue seems to be approaching it) what the ATT was supposed to be about...representative fans, who will chat to other fans and take opinions and themes to the table, almost replacing the role that HTSA originally seemed to have (who are now seemingly primarily a travel club?). I dont know his commitments, (and I dont know him and he doesnt know me), but he seems like an ideal candidate for the SLO role. Someone strong of opinion but fair minded with it, who seems to recognise that we're ALL Town fans. The amount of time involved to be effective as the SLO would seem, to me, to rule out plenty of ideal candidates (which is why I suggested on the SLO thread) that Bob Pepper may well be 'more suited' to the role. However, if Scoffa wanted the role I can think of nobody better. C'mon Mids, Scoffa would be ideal for the SLO, and you know as well as I do that he does sod all during the day
