We'll have to go to Ecuador in the week before the match to get used to playing at altitude!

I think it is, something to do with their ground being about 28 miles above sea level!

Mally, West Brom is the highest. Oldham is third but I bet it's the coldest!

Whenever I've come across that question in quizzes, the answer to England's highest ground has always (a bit surprisingly) been West Brom. I don't think Oldham are so far behind though.
Switching to real nerd mode though, the highest ground in England is Buxton. I presume they didn't count Marsden's Hemplow pitch though which was featured in The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe as the place where it's always winter.

Ooops yes stand corrected, it is third highest. Must be a bloody big hill near to Birmigham somewhere what I 've missed.

Just to add... I've played on the highest ground in the country... Buxton Town, Silverlands (I think it's called). I played against their reserves whilst playing in the Hope Valley league.

If West Brom is highest and Oldham 3rd highest, where are Town in the list ?
Surely Scapegoat Hill's pitch was the highest in Huddersfield. Remember playing there in tracky bottoms, sweatshirt, kagool with the hood up, shirt on top and was still freezing.

Out of interest, what's the second highest league ground? Port Vale at 525 feet. The Hawthorns is at 551 feet and Oldham is 509 feet above sea level.
