I don't see there's a problem right now. As I see it, we're a club still trying to consolidate in the Championship and I believe it takes time. The first two seasons were very tough, as we all knew it would be, especially on a limited budget and, like most other Championship clubs, we lack strength in depth. Unless we can fill some of those empty stadium seats in the near future, then we're stuck with what we have. That's why I think the North Stand Loyal initiative is a fantastic effort by everyone and if it succeeds in raising the atmosphere, encourages the players and makes match days even more enjoyable then it will be a resounding success. All power to it! As for complaining about our style of play, it seems as though I'm the only one who's actually enjoyed watching Town since Robins took over. Like everyone else I want Town to do well and sometimes we disappoint and underachieve which is very frustrating but I reckon consistency has to be the key. Successful teams put in consistently solid performances every game and when their form drops they're quick to get things back on track. I'm still convinced we have players who are more than capable at this level and believe it's up to us all to support them as best we can. If, after 10/12 matches into the new season we're looking decidedly dodgy then of course I will expect there to be a reaction by Dean H. However, right now, I'm all for giving Mark and his staff the benefit of any doubt and stand 100% behind them. We all have our own views on things, which is only right and have the best interests of HTFC at heart but criticising before a ball is kick in anger helps no one in my view.

It's not I don't like him he's just not very good or very inspiring. He's pulled the wool over plenty folks eyes with the supposed slick passing football we play. A slightly better version of Mick Wadsworth, says all the right things but ultimately things don't seem to change. Once teams found us out last year Robins hadn't a clue what to do. Ok, you like him, you don't rate him. I just get the feeling supporting town isn't a fun experience for you (and a few others). Ok we sack Robins and get someone else in. And we still finish 15th cos 99% of the time finances dictate league position. So what then. Do you write post after post saying you don't rate him either? and the next one? and the next one? Ultimately we are supporting Huddersfield, Not Barca. Sure its fine to question and critique, of course it is. But we are still in the close season and its "Robins this" "Robins that"... You guys are going to burn yourselves out before the season's begun DATM myth number 257 'that some Town fans don't enjoy supporting Town'....come on Ted you're an inteligent bloke, do you honestly believe that? I thought I better give a reply as I assume you were including me in the 'others' comment because nothing could be further from the truth. The whole matchday experience, especially away games, are enjoyable, just happens that the proceedings on the pitch let the day down sometimes. It can be difficult to enjoy the football sometimes, if its turgid, as it was most of the time after Christmas, but on the whole its the day out and the games is only part of that. It's that we care so much that it comes across as us not enjoying it. I'm looking forward to having football back even though I feel it is likely to be a disappointing season. So do I enjoy supporting Town, you bet I do.

Speaking of myths Art I find this 'turgid' affairs to be another myth. Very few football matches these days are exciting affiars, even the winners at the top end of the Premier League produce some of the most boring matches I've ever seen. Football has become a big business therefore many clubs have become totally results orientated rather than it simply being an entertainment as some still niavely believe. I loved watching some games in the 70's and early eighties but let's not be mistaken there were some absolute shockers besides the great games which naturally are better remembered with such fondness. For example Grimsby Town were quite a successful club at our level during the 80's but their offside away tactics under Alan Buckley continually produced boring 0-0 draws to home fans or vital away points as Mariners fans would view it. Even Arsenal at the top end of the scale were known as Boring boring Arsenal. I don't wish to start a LC debate but he had the best winning percentage and the best goals for per game as any post war Town manager, we produced the best unbeaten run of any club in the 125 yr history of the football league and yet the majority of fans on this forum would have you believe his first priority of every game was to secure a point(No wonder he was sacked - because he failed with that as well ). The truth is that these days many teams are set up to prevent the other side from winning rather than winning themselves so it will naturally lead to poorer games. Even in the halcyon days of Buxton and Greaves there were many games that were instantly forgettable or turgid, even though they were played by the common man for the working class folk. In those days there wasn't the ridiculous financial rewards and penalties for success and failure that we see today. What really gets my goat is that whilst Robins may be termed as a 'boring' personality, some performances are anything but, the five goal wins at home to Bournemouth, Yeovil and Barnsley, in addition to the 4-1 win at Watford are immediately written off as games against pub team opposition or to a team already on its holidays like Watford. Wins like that are remembered with such fondness from the Greaves, Buxton (both as dour personalities as Robins himself) and Jackson eras but dismissed today and I can't understand why?
