Sounds more like he is staying where he is to me Nah, sounds like he appreciates the messages from Boro fans, but is on his way.

No genuine town fan would know that "Brown" had tried to break Butterfields legs. If you are aiming to play the role of a wind up merchant, at least do it properly. Otherwise FUCK OFF

(He's a L66ds hater too) Honestly don't hate me because I know more about football than you. And it was already stated on this thread ya dumbo.

Came into the side under Simon Davies who had worked with him in theyouth set up after his arrival from old Trafford as a 15 yr old. He then excelled under Robins who made him captain at just 21 years old so much like Hammill played his best football under Robins at Barnsley and yes JB + AH played in the same side. You're right in terms of Simon Davey, but a bit off with the rest. He was first brought into the first team at 17 years old by Davey, but was used sparingly. He did come off the bench at Wembley in the FA Cup semi final in 2008 though under the same manager. When Mark Robins came in (2009-10 season) he picked Jacob in his team initially, and we won games. But once Mark recruited his own players, Jacob became a sub or unused sub in the main. He didn't feature at all in the last three months of that season. The following season he made 42 appearances, but half of them were from the bench. He was always played out wide by Robins much to our dismay. However, he started the last 8 games of the season, and was played in the middle in most, completing 90 minutes each time, which ended the myth that Robins didn't fancy him and that Jacob didn't have the engine etc. That summer though saw Robins' departure over budget restraints. Keith Hill came in, made Jacob captain and built the side around him. He went on to be our key player, playing in the middle, and had scored 5 goals and assisted double that before dirty fcuking Michael Brown crocked him on New Years Eve. If/when he signs for you, you've got a great little player. He and Hammill played together, he knows Norwood from Man Utd youth team, knows Vaughan from Norwich and of course he knows and likes Robins. Yorkshire lad n all. Coady and Butterfield are (in my opinion) both better players than Clayton. You just need work on that defence, as usual. It was never Mark's strong point. What a bloody constructive post! Thanks for visiting. Whilst you are here, what did you make of Jack Hunt last year?

Already mentioned, seems to have a mixed response whether its a goodbye or the opposite. As a Town supporter, it's good to see that Sheffield fans rate Coady and, by all accounts, JB is getting good feedback from Boro fans.

We can't get rid of Butterfield rather just stay away from Clayton and keep Butterfield he's one of our best
Sidgybean99
07 Aug 2014 14:06:33 I personally think Clayton will have more of an impact Butterfield never really did anything and I disagree that he was one of our best tbh he never really did anything!

I thought we already had "Hogg"....split opinion at Boro and another player with injury concerns..... move on

As for Clayton he could well end up at Brighton who to me look a better option!!

If he signs he'll be the highest paid player at this club.
He's on £20k p/w at Boro.
