Unlike most fans on DATM, I actually quite like him, however, I am willing to concede he's not the hardest worker and can be inconsistent, so I was wondering what everyone wanted to do with him? I don't want to let him go for next to nothing because he has the quality, if someone can coax it out of him, but also can't see him staying unless he can add some consistency to his game. I like the idea of offering him as part exchange for someone like Gary Mackay-Steven. Reckon GMS would be a great attacking option and could work on the opposite wing to Hammill, the service to Vaughan and Wells would be phenomenal. In addition, Scannell would easily do a job for Dundee United and rip up the SPL just like Lionel Ainsworth and Kallum Higginbotham are doing.

Blimey, we haven't had a Sean Scannell thread for ages. I miss them.
He's scored two of the best solo goals for Town that I can remember in my 40 odd years as a supporter (Wolves & Leicester)

Not sure Scannell would be willing to venture any further north

Whilst he (like many others) is without doubt inconsistent, it's the claims that he has an attitude problem that gets my goat when IMO there is no evidence of that at all except maybe a tenuous link to Nick accusing him of having untidy bins, though what he is doing going through Scannell's trash is another issue.

Not sure Scannell would be willing to venture any further north Yeah, that's an issue, but he's got to realise he's got to move to wherever will offer him the best opportunity for his career and stop being a nancy. If I was getting paid what he was, I'd move anywhere anyone wanted me to...even if it was Dundee. If Scannell were to grow up, that would be a great solution to that problem

2 assists, 2 seasons. t'ra I agree not good enough, but always enjoy him coming on due to his pace, think he will stay this season, if its another poor season Robin will get rid.

Shown on numerous occasions he can be a good impact player off the bench. Think it'll be more of that this season

I think Scannells a bit thick tbh, in footballing terms. I agree he has the ability but never seems to know where his team mates are.

Thought he did alright on Tuesday to be fair and tracked back quite well, he also put 2 good low crosses in away from defenders but unfortunately as per usual only Wells was in the box. His output clearly needs to be better but I still think he has something to offer and can be (although it hasn't been often enough) an exciting player to watch.

I like him too.....but he is far too inconsistent. name two players that havent been inconsistent in the last two seasons Smithies and gerrard, our 2 most consistant players by a long way since we went up. Not a fan of scannel. His stats tell a story and he looks uninterested a lot of the time imo. Think hes a very big earner so it would be hard to move him on, even if we wanted to, as his next club is likely to be someone like brentford or a lleague 1 club.

Yeh consistent with staying on his line constantly oh apart from when hes flapping in the air. Smithies is a great shot stopper But a consistent goalkeeper, no way
