He has failed to agree terms with Wolves, I reckon he would do a job for us next to Nahki, guessing that Vaughany will play like 30% of games if lucky!

0% chance of us being able to afford him

In an ideal world we'd sign Wood, re-sign Pilks and get Keane on loan. Unfortunately transfer fees/wages and our budget make the first two out of our reach. Plenty of good players available within our budget though, especially if Coady, Lolley and Butterfield are anything to go by,

He would be just the ticket - but we couldn't afford him when he went to Leicester instead in the first place, so I assume we can't now unless we had him on loan and Leicester paid some of his wages.

If Wolves can't agree terms with him I hardly think we will.
Besides, apart from a brief spell with Millwall, he's done nothing to suggest to me he's any good.

Wolves wanted Leicester to pay a percentage of his wage for the duration of his current contract (1 or 2 years?), while taking him on a 3 or 4 year deal. How that works, I don't know...
But he will end up being loaned out no doubt, with part of his wages being paid by Leicester, if he is too expensive. Then a free transfer and earn even more than he is now. Thus adding to the problem of inflated wages.

There's a contract rule somewhere that if Wood doesn't ask for a move and Wolves can't match his wages, then he's entitled to ask for Leicester to cover the shortfall. He forfeits this if he requests a move. Leicester would only pay it until his contract with them would have expired. TBF I wish I could sack my job, go get a nice easy part time one and have my current company pay the shortfall - sadly such dreams don't come true

Would be a great signing - However we can't afford him permanently but a loan wouldn't be out of reach if Leicester were willing to loan him out.

I was bored and curious the other day so I did a bit of Googling about him. When he went to Leicester the Millwall chairmain implied he was on something like £20k but the Leicester fans pretty much scoffed at that and seem convinced it's more like £10k. Make of that what you will, I guess. It's a hell of a lot less than Beckford was on so maybe a loan would be realistic enough?

Wolves would be able to afford 10k with the crowds they get so i think 20k is more near to the mark

Could anyone actually see town doing business with Leicester on dead line day after what happened last time?

Too expensive, Dean nodded his head when someone mentioned it on Thurs, someone like him though yes. Was Vaughan's biggest fan - it's a joke now!

Please put Vaughan on a slow boat to China, and bring in a No. 9 who will do it now for us before its too late. loved Vaughan, but its not happening for him

Would like to see some of the money we got in the transfer window put into wages for a class striker. Vaughan now has to be seen as our 3rd choice striker.

So who is our 1st and 2nd choices? ...my grandma could have scored the goal today you surely aren't suggesting a Wells/Stead partnership is good enough?, perhaps we could put Bunn up there but is obvious we need to bring in a loan striker and quick

Vaughan can't be relied on anymore. Its harsh but we have to plan without him. Feel so sorry for the lad too.

Think we have to face the truth,he's crocked no one would touch him with a barge pole now.I think he's quite happy to run his contract down. Can we retire him on ill health and claim the insurance
