Been told he can leave Man Utd but not to an 'immediate rival'. Given that the top 4 clubs won't want him and the rest of the PL are their mid-table rivals surely this means he's Championship bound?
Could be the 10 goal a season man we're after?
;-)

Whilst I don't rate him as an international there's no chance that he'll becoming here!

I think as a team's focal point he could really do well. Joking aside a club like Swansea - where they can build play around him and play to his strengths - could be the making of him.

Wouldn't want him. He would never have got near an England shirt if he was at Hull or West Bromwich, and his wages will be obscene even by the standards of professional football. Besides, he's only half the player Joe Lolley is!

10 goals in the championship is selling him very short. Premier league mid table side easy. He should go abroad if you ask me. He never gets the chance to consistent run in the team. A good player, who has had to play different positions to suit others. In time he could prove to be another Sturridge. (I don't think that's how you spell it, oops.)

No-one in our squad would get near him. I bet he's on about £80k pw and will be a leading star in a good PL team. How anyone wouldn't want him is beyond me. My 10 goal target was a joke, hence the winky face. Just shows the delusions of some Town fans.

Could be the 10 goal a season man we're after? ;-) Not according to the London Evening Standard: Arsenal and Tottenham are lining up a bid for Danny Welbeck after Manchester United told the England striker he can leave Old Trafford. Standard Sport understands both London clubs are interested in the £15million-rated player, who has scored 20 goals in 90 Premier League appearances for United and has just 18 months left on his contract. Welbeck has become increasingly frustrated at Old Trafford, especially last season where he was frequently left on the bench even though his strike rate was impressive under David Moyes. That frustration has boiled over since the arrival of new boss Louis van Gaal, who has made it clear the 23-year-old winger does not feature prominently in his rebuilding plans and can expect limited first-team appearances. An Old Trafford source said: “Danny has an astonishing strike rate for United and he has now reached a stage where he deserves to be playing first-team football or else his England career will suffer as well. “United are happy to let him go but would prefer it was to a club that won’t be fighting for a Champions League place by the end of the season. “But the reality is that there are plenty of top clubs who will be very interested in signing Danny.”

A goal every 4.5 matches in a team who have scored loads of goals to win the league over the past few years he has been involved in the squad is hardly prolific.

He is worth more than our entire squad. Massively underrated and in the right team will score 15 premier league goals I reckon. However, has he done his coaching badges?

Some people really are clueless.
Despite being a RAG he's a good player and has never let England down, scoring some good goals in vital games.

Hahahahah wouldn't have Danny Wellbeck.... My god what planet are we all on here? I'd have him here in a heartbeat, won't happen though.. He puts in some real shifts in a England shirt & scores his fair share. Newcastle would be a good club for him i reckon, him & Remy would be awesome for them.

Underrated player who will really excel when given a run of games. Southampton, Tottenham could do a lot worse.

Besides, he's only half the player Joe Lolley is! I think our friend with numbers for a name is being ridiculed unfairly. I wouldn't want him either. Nor would I want Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Andres Iniesta. Not because they're not good enough (obviously!), but because we couldn't afford them. Put another way, even if we could attract them here, we'd be bankrupt very, very quickly. Could have done with a somewhere though after the Joe Lolley comment!
