While it was jimwest who did the Man of The Match poll on this occasion, I've been requested to do the results write up as normal. And if jimwest doesn't like it then he can sue me! What a magnificent result for Huddersfield Town! Town got through to the 4th round of the F.A Cup with a shock home win over Premier League side Birmingham City. Now to improve in the league and build on this - giant killing! 13410 turned up to see this F.A Cup third round game at the Galpharm Stadium, more than usual but had Town been in better league form, this attendance could have been considerably higher. On just 4 minutes Town took a shock lead, when Danny Schofield's one-two with Chris Brandon in the Birmingham box led to a Schofield shot which while saved by Maik Taylor was then spilled at the feet of Luke Beckett who promptly tapped home! It had been a great start but surely this very physical Birmingham side would be at us before long? And they were! On 19 minutes Birmingham Winger De Ridder put Muamba through on goal, Town goalkeeper Matt Glennon did very well to save Muamba's shot but it was no good as the rebound fell to O'Connor who had no trouble shooting into the open net. The score remained at 1-1 going into half time. At half time Joe Skarz replaced the evidently injured Robbie Williams at left back. On 62 minutes Birmingham's Cameron Jerome hit the field replacing Mikael Forssell and Town fans made their obvious dislike of the striker known by constantly booing the ex-Town academy player for his comments to the media prior to the game. Jevons replaced Kamara for Town on 79 minutes. On 82 minutes the atmosphere hit a new high as Luke Beckett crossed the ball into the Birmingham box to find the left foot of Chris Brandon who's volley put Town infront! The atmosphere was excellent at this point - Town ahead against Premier League opposition and most importantly, set for the F.A Cup fourth round! Town saw out the game, the score remaining 2-1 to the Terriers. What a win! A very good performance all round but who was Town's Man of The Match? An astonishing 225 people told us who they thought was Town's best player. Town's hero on the day, say the majority, was - [glow=red,2,300]Andy Holdsworth.[/glow] The central midfielder put in an excellent appearance and his effort couldn't be faulted, his enthusiastic, "heart on his sleeve" performance has led many to call for him to be the new Huddersfield Town Captain. He earned 63% of the vote. Plenty of credit must also go to runner up - [glow=red,2,300]Chris Brandon.[/glow] The winger who did plenty of running for Town was involved in the one-two that created the first goal and of course he scored Town's winner! 10% of voters put him down as Man of The Match. Elsewhere nearly 9% went to the fantastic debutant (first START anyway) James Berrett. About 7% went to stand in centre back Frank Sinclair. Just over 5% went to Danny Schofield, putting in probably his best performance of the season. Roughly 3% went to goalkeeper Matt Glennon. Goalscorer Luke Beckett picked up around 2% of votes. Finally makeshift right back Michael Collins picked up nearly 0.5% of the Man of The Match poll. The ResultsTotal Votes - 225 (100%) Andy Holdsworth - 142 (63.1%) Chris Brandon - 23 (10.2%) James Berrett - 20 (8.8%) Frank Sinclair - 15 (6.6%) Danny Schofield - 12 (5.3%) Matt Glennon - 7 (3.1%) Luke Beckett - 5 (2.2%) Michael Collins - 1 (0.4%) After 8 Man of The Match awards these are the running totals - Andy Booth - 2 Matt Glennon - 2 Robbie Williams - 2 Andy Holdsworth - 1 Jon Worthington - 1 Thanks for reading, again comments welcome. And a special thanks to PolishHippy and MancTerrier who have made me the "DATM MOTM Official Pollster" ;D and a moderator so that I can sticky Man of The Match polls and the like! And thanks to jimwest for doing the poll but PLEASE leave it to me next time! Cheers, Andy.

Good summary.
I voted Berrett, but I think I took into account the fact that Holdsworth had pretty much already won by the time I'd voted!

Good summary. I voted Berrett, but I think I took into account the fact that Holdsworth had pretty much already won by the time I'd voted! Cheers. I suppose it'd be nice if the poll results were hidden until you'd voted ... but it can't be helped. They were both very good and you've gotta double the credit for Berrett with it being his first full start.

Good summary. I voted Berrett, but I think I took into account the fact that Holdsworth had pretty much already won by the time I'd voted! Me too. I was torn between Holdsworth and Sinclair, so I gave it to Sinclair because Holdsworth already had it won. Holdsworth was fantastic on Saturday though. Doesn't HE have a brother

if it isnt ANDY HOLDSWORTHS dad hows it going ANDY ;D It's going well. And with you? If I'm his Dad then there's been some sort of mix up ... If you look at my age on my profile ... it'd look a bit ... Anyway I'm not 100% I want him as captain ... Worthy stakes a good claim. But Holdsworth is in the team a lot more often I suppose. Anyway - gotta go and read Andy a bedtime ... I mean ... erm ... Andy.
