Lillis (as great a man he is) has picked up 70 points in 66 games as a manager. He got 62 in 60 at Halifax, straight after taking over a team who had come close to getting into the playoffs. I would only appoint him if nobody else wants to come and then we'd have a job on to replace him as academy manager. And I failed to include his spells as caretaker at Stockport 0 points from 1 game) and Derby (4 points from 7 games), so that's 74 points from 78 games. agree with this however if he is given the job he will have both steves behind him who are both good students of the game in coaching and tactic and yes when they have been on their own they have not flourished but thats because they lack the motivational skills of lillis. its a bit like jacko and yorath jacko was the front man the passion and commitment yorath was the brains. so it could just work.

Think its more they are rejecting us . Which manager worth his salt wouldn't want his own backroom staff ? .have a day off you dummies . Depends how smart the manager is. He may realise that he needs a reliable someone who can balance his own weaknesses and create a certain synergy: Peter Jackson needed Terry Yorath and Brian Clough needed Peter Taylor. Our current staff may be the biggest stumbling block.

Maybe you could be right. Who knows? Jacko however didn't do badly at Lincoln without Yorath, pulling off another great escape. I think as was mentioned earlier in the thread, whoever we get may have to inherit an assistant rather than bring in their own. This might put people off, but Lillis I'm sure would be happy to work with the two Steves.

DH won't like me for this but Pressley, Powell, Scottish bloke - all mean one thing.
Another manager search next summer.
I'd rather Otium ran things with Moaner as his assistant.

Out of all the potential candidates he would be my choice.

When folk said we were being unrealistic with Kluivert!!! Taken from BBC Football website: "Ross County chairman Roy MacGregor confirmed Kluivert had applied for the job. "I cannot believe the quality of applicants," MacGregor told BBC Scotland. "We have had a really good response. That response five years ago would never have happened and it wouldn't have happened two years ago. "The credit for putting Ross County on the map is back to George and Derek and I'd like to thank them for that. "The calibre of applicant has been really good." Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Hibernian boss Terry Butcher has also been mentioned in connection with the job. "I believe Terry [Butcher] is under garden leave with Hibs," explained MacGregor. "He certainly was a motivator [at Inverness], he did a wonderful job there. He has an affiliation with the Highlands. "I think an affiliation with the Highlands is really important and that they understand what our area is about." Has me wondering, why is he applying for Ross County job though???
