A man, middle-aged, ex-footballer, boring personality, under-whelming, not wanted by another team and a sycophant. Sorry for the new thread but sick of reading about our next big failure.

So who would you go for? Who would you have appointed instead of the previous 3 managers who Dean Hoyle has appointed?

Let's for someone who is doing things now! Graham Alexander has done a brilliant job at Fleetwood. ..

Coach at Chelsea. Not much chance of that. Powell is probably our best option.

If we were going to get a big name, we'd have had one by now. By the length of time elapsed between the job becoming vacant and now is far too long for my liking. We'll probably end up with a name of the managerial merry go round. Unless Hoyle is going to appoint another Lee Clark type manager.

If Pressley gets the job I dread to think of the reaction! Keep reading in the pres he is "highly rated" By who?? And McKinley? I mean ? With Lennon saying no and Warnock now elsewhere if it's anyone other than Powell DH will look a plonker after his "seen it done it" comment.

I don't think it's right that he gets the job It's a great risk to give him a job of this size we could be in big trouble with this appointment .

Though what constitutes good enough I've no idea. He should be good when we get him!

I struggle to understand who we are going to appoint who is a "bigger" name than Powell, who won't be holding out for a bigger club. Dean Hoyle said he wanted someone who had, "been there and done it" and depending on how you determine that, I don't think he can be accused of going back on his word, by appointing him. I also struggle to understand how people question the last two appointments. WHO ELSE COULD WE HAVE GOT? Especially in the case of Grayson. We were looking to get out of league one, and establish ourselves in the championship, so we appointed someone who had been there and done it twice.

Lillis (as great a man he is) has picked up 70 points in 66 games as a manager. He got 62 in 60 at Halifax, straight after taking over a team who had come close to getting into the playoffs. I would only appoint him if nobody else wants to come and then we'd have a job on to replace him as academy manager.

And I failed to include his spells as caretaker at Stockport 0 points from 1 game) and Derby (4 points from 7 games), so that's 74 points from 78 games.
