Surely though Sugy if your Cardiff friends were real you would have opened the thread with their information, looks more like a cover up to save face:) I referred to my Cardiff friends on page one and throughout my thread but please inform me as to what I needed to cover up. .

I am coming to terms with the fact that my expectations for this club are far to high and that stems from the past when I witnessed Town playing at the highest level. The one thing I must do is apologise to anybody on this site who I offended with my thread as it was not meant to harm or upset in any way and really hope that Hudson turns out to be a Huddersfield Town superstar.

Forget about the 70's Sugy - that ship has sailed, no need to deck anyone . We even played in Navy back then! Hopefully Hudson will seal our leaky defence, we've had a bit of a blue August, but am hoping for a red October!

I wonder if there are still any really old fans around who base their expectations on the title winning Town side of the 20s ? How disappointed will they be!

2 seasons 42 years ago Were you or you parents there in the 70s ?? Don't know about anyone else but i don't look at the 70's with a great deal of fondness. (After) the 69/70 season under Greaves we hardly put a foot right and the club was in turmoil.

Wow, just wow!!
Normally my dinner hour is spent trawling the internet reading numerous random news or sport related stories, not today! I have just read the whole 9 pages of this absolute belter of a thread that seems to have been loosely based on the opinions of 3 Welsh blokes and 1 post on a Sky Sports website as opposed to the opinion of hundreds of professional footballers who voted the guy into the team of the year, various managers who have bought and picked the guy to play (including Solskjaer who picked him to start the season until he bought 2 central defenders costing £4 million and £5 million) at this level and higher over the years, and seemingly the views of 99% of football fans in general.
I have to be honest, I simply don't care if he can't tackle, can't pass, and has no pace as I assume he would have had all these problems for the entirety of his 14 year career which has been spent entirely at a higher level than we have played (as even when in the same league he was competing at the top of the division when we were not) and he has still managed to excel.
I look forward to seeing how a player with seemingly very few attributes needed of a centre back at this level manages to constantly be an integral part of sides at this level and higher when he pulls on the blue and white stripes. It's going to be part football and part magic show by the sounds of it!!

A lot of posters on this forum witnessed Town playing in the top division back then Sugy including myself, gawd I'm that old I remember Bill Shankly as manager. A word of advice from an 'old man' when you're caught out as you were have the humility to hold your hand up and accept you missed the news regarding Hudson. Personally have been guilty a good few times of putting my foot in it on here but I like to think I kept a bit of self respect by owning up. By the way i'm not harmed or upset in any way but to me your credibility is.

Anyway forget it and try to remain positive, exciting times to be a Town supporter I reckon.

Mark Hudson IS a championship quality centre back, don't bother what sky sports website says that's contradictory to his achievements. Your Cardiff City mates are on a wind up and boy have they succeeded.

Just to put things into perspective with regards Sky Sports' analysis of player strengths, especially in the defensive/tackling areas...

Just to put things into perspective with regards Sky Sports' analysis of player strengths, especially in the defensive/tackling areas... So you're saying Hudson is worse at tackling and defending than Norwood? Awful signing. Powell out.

Just to put things into perspective with regards Sky Sports' analysis of player strengths, especially in the defensive/tackling areas... LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!! Seriously, this is what the fabled "Sky Sports Info" was? ? If this is the level of player "info" on Sky Sports then I am actually starting to believe that Superlopez may be feeding them his info after all!!!
