It's a pot made of tin, and other Yorkshire clubs find it hilarious. It doesn't 'get up their noses' or 'wind them up', they just think it's pathetic and tinpot. Which it completely is. I work in sadland, with city and scum fans, and it gets RIGHT up their noses.

It's a bit cringey isn't it? For one it's not even true, could understand it if we the only team from Yorkshire. Wonder what other clubs think of it... its like City saying they are the Manchester club

It is a meaningless marketing phrase. Why should we regard ourselves are /the/ Yorkshire Club more than any other? whilst people might not like the idea of a marketing phrase, I believe it is about building a brand, not just around the Huddersfield Town name but something that it can clearly be associated with.. But building a brand name takes time and I am sure if you "Googled" The Yorkshire Club you might not necessarily come back with answer, Huddersfield Town. Within the traditional borders of Yorkshire, as everyone is aware there are a number of clubs and including Middlesboro but to many they may not consider this a Yorkshire Club. The idea is I think to make the name Huddersfield Town, associated with the true Yorkshire Club, taking into account all the other work it does, such as YAA, P4P (but that is to the benefit of the club et al the academy), Breakfast Club and many other community initiatives, which set the club aside from others in Yorkshire. DH has eluded to and asked the rhetorical question, how many other clubs own their own training ground in Yorkshire and I am guessing that we must be the only one. Like the North West, there are many clubs in that region and I think the vision of DH is to make Town stand out amongst the rest hence the title or brand "the Yorkshire Club". Only time will tell if this is successful because that is what it takes to make a successful, easily recognised brand, which also links into the ethos of the club not just on the field of play and academy but at the community engagement level and to broaden the geographical fan base area further afield. This to many will be considered to be a load of "rowlocks" but in todays business arena you have to build a brand to make it easily identifiable and attractive, attractive enough to make people buy into it. This will create additional new revenue streams, which the club is always trying to achieve because additional revenue streams means more money to spend on players and building a successful brand also means other businesses want to be associated with it because it fits into the type of business they want to be aligned and linked to, with again more revenue being created for allowing those businesses to be linked with The Yorkshire Club. Nicely explained. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't want the truth spelled out to them because they can't just disagree with it. They would have to find a valid reason for their dislike of it and they aren't prepared to put in the effort to build up an objective argument. However they could say we are not the only club in Yorkshire. But that would be missing the point of the marketing objective altogether. Also be prepared to have to continually state this over and over again as there will always be the people who like to forget. As per the "What does Ross Wilson do" brigade.

They are. They're not the only club in Greater Manchester, in fact at one point they were the 5th highest placed club in the league after Macclesfield (I think), but they are the only club in Manchester. As a pompous dickwad to me the term Yorkshire means more than just a geographical location or just part of a postal address but as a way of being. We sing "We're Yorkshire" not "We're from Yorkshire". Much like the the aborigines in Australia (especially that one pictured leaning against a tree with a know in his willy) we're part of the land and it is part of us.....and if you don't like it just don't take any notice of it for fuck sake.

Hardly a unique nickname, could be referring to half a dozen clubs in the area. It doesn’t really matter but I don’t like it.

How successful it is, in many ways depends on how successful we are as a club. Which is why it's building a brand. Everyone knows just how little exposure we get at the moment in the National Press or Football League show, but I'd guarantee if we were top of The Premiership a lot more people would know us as The Yorkshire Club, regardless of any other team in Yorkshire.

You make a valid point there about having to continually explain things that have previously been adequately explained, such as the reasons we cant use the south stand as a home end, FFP, why is it taking so long to choose a manager, as you point out, what does Ross Wilson do and many many other points. In some ways I think this is because of a variety of reasons such as too lazy to read up and find out, wanting to be in the limelight and controversial and attention seeking, not listening to what people say, argumentative, etc. It is amazing in todays technological age that people just cannot find out through various technological means the answer to their question. Of course the easy solution is to actually engage with DH at the many forums he attends to answer peoples questions and yet they choose not to then moan like billy ho

Unfortunately Tanzanian Terrier it's the way of the world, and actually some people would just take no notice of anything anyone else said anyway, continuing to believe in their own nonsense. Lets face it, there are plenty of folk don't believe in the moon landings, whatever evidence they see, and simply wouldn't believe if someone actually went there and took pictures tomorrow. Let alone all those folk that firmly believe they've been abducted by Aliens, only it seems interested in their anuses, and bunches of lunatics lopping folks heads off for the mistaken ludicrousy of god knows how many vestal virgins. Common sense is very sadly not part of everybody's I.D.

Actually true paradise is to be found at Wembley after a play off final
