I've hated all the stick datm has given nsl. Thought progress was made on Saturday. The small flags looked great as did the streamers. The guy who made the 2 stick banner looked good too. Thanks to Shaggy for breaking the silence with give us a H!!! . Can't find any pic or video of Saturday on website, twitter or here. Or plans for Wigan. I think the drummer would help keep the atmosphere going when the football is boring. Have we looked into whether a megaphone would be aloud? Thought the banners that we bought looked to be hanging a bit limp and need checking before kick off- it's about the look after all. I was on the back row and couldn't read the long paper banner held up at the start- what did it say? I have been a bit disappointed with the lack of songs old and new. I have said it many times before but those were the days whole song needs to be repeated instead of the fading na na nas at the end and everyone will have plenty of time to join in. The simple chant of blue and white army is simple enough to keep going til we think of another song. Let's prove all the doubters tomorrow night and sing nonstop for at least the first 45 minutes. I have a projector could be used to get an image onto fire proof material and then colour in rather than having wait for banner coming from Poland. Just trying to help and be optimistic. It's been great so far in the nsl.

In terms of the drummer, Drew, he didn't come with his drum on Saturday unfortunately but we are hoping to have him in for Tuesday. We are in talks with the club regarding a mega phone for someone to lead the songs. The long banner read ' the Powell and the glory' and was made by Pozza. Your always welcome to start any songs you like on Tuesday, we can't rely on a handful of people. We all need to chip in.

Think NSL became a scapegoat after the match as at 1-0 down would the br corner ever have sung a chant? I think not. Also there was fm upper singing occasionally and corner in DGL near away fans trying a bit. So to go from one stand to 3 singing in four games is quite an achievement. Just ignore the haters, who will be thanking you later for the better atmosphere. Some suggestions would be : have at least one if not two people at the front turning around to the crowd to start chants and motion with hands to clap above people's head ( if you have seen holmsdale fanatics you will know what I mean), also I would station the hardcore NSL at the front like HF as people not as involved with the NSL will easily be able to see you starting chants at the front ( hardly going to affect the acoustics).

I was thinking the same, it would probably be louder if the main singers were at the front so they're closer to the pitch as there's no accoustics in the stand

Cheers for the comments about my 2 stick banner I really would like to see the drummer and a few people at the front (maybe with a megaphone) getting the crowd going in an organised fashion... 9/10 groups have this setup! Like this I thought it would be a good idea to get a lech poznan or have them as our partner group ... But I am reluctant because they could be racists/homophobes as some Eastern European 'ultras' are.

That's a decent vid is that Cole, who's volunteering to go at the front then, lead a few songs?

It will work if we have a couple of good lads at the bottom getting everyone going and not stopping, people always join in a lot of people in there don't want to start but will join in
But if the lads at the bottom stop everyone else will also the team have to do their part

Plus, the man at the front can see how far out the singing is spreading across the stand. If you're in the middle of 20 singers you've no idea who is singing further away, or if they are at all. Given that everybody going in the NSL is likeminded, then you'd expect the vast majority of them to want to sing.

One that loops so that everyone gets to sing it instead of one blast 'HUUUUUUUUUUUUUDERSFIELD' from one section, followed by a half arsed groan from the other side

Yes all our songs finish just as they get started
Some people wait I verse before joining in and then they end
They need to be longer

We're new to this... and learning all the time! If we trial different chants and songs we'll eventually find the best/make our own... We're only 3 games in so I wouldn't be expecting us to be perfect already, trial and improvement!

We just need 1800(?) people to pack the lower tier out, and we have ourselves one cracking little home end!

And a tiny roof on top!

I think if we can get as many people in as possible for the game on the tele against Wednesday, we can show the town fans at home what sort of an home end atmosphere we could have, it's just convincing the NSL haters.
Also with that video... To all the BR singing section...
Look how far the away fans are to the home fans, "banter" with away fans is ok but surely supporting YOUR football team is more important than badgering the away end? Is it not?

I remember scoffa saying at the first meeting that sustained 'bouncing' wasn't allowed due to it being a temporary stand... It's pretty vague?! Does that mean 60 seconds? Only when we score? or never?

That stand shakes like a shifting dog when terrierng walks up the steps....

NSL was great last night
And I haven't read anyone hating on the NSL today
It was better having some people at the bottom helping keeping the songs going think that is the way forward

There's a few fans in the singing section that seem to think we've ruined the atmosphere, because we've taken the singers away from that end of the ground. If we hadn't set up the NSL, the whole ground would have been like a morgue last night, as it has been for years when the football hasn't been inspiring. I've had a few lads tell me we should move back to that end of the ground, which I interpret as, "If you bring your flags, songs, scarves, streamers, tickertape and banners up here, and sing like you do in the North Stand, the Singing Section will be better." Of course it would, but it's a case of after the horse has bolted for the singing section. The fact that we are behind a goal, with unreserved seating is of massive importance to me, and the layout of the stand gives us great flexibility with the flags, and displays. Anyway, we're still very much in our infancy, but I think we've made a solid start after the blip on Saturday. Give it a few months and we'll have that end absolutely rocking, and the lads in the Kilner will find themselves migrating North for the 2nd half of the games.

Stop calling it the singing section and that would be a start
