Trust me, Chris, you've no need to worry on that score.

Powell said at the Q&A night that he had a nasty streak if necessary, well I hope he has given it to the players after that.
We needed a central defender for 2 years, how long before we go and get the support striker that we desperately need ? Everyone to a man said in the summer that we needed a big man to get the best out of Wells (and to replace Vaughan when injured). Well here we are... Still no such player !!
I am sure all those who told me the club had been right to take their time when we signed Hudson and appointed Powell will be on here telling me the same again... Yes Hudson was a good choice but it shouldn't have taken 2 years to get him !! 3 weeks to appoint Powell.. Don't make me laugh, oops there goes the transfer window.
If we don't have a new striker by next Saturday then the Board need to take some responsibility as this is a joke. These weaknesses have been staring us in the face and we have tried to get by on the cheap.
We have 1.4m left after transfers.. Spend it before it is too late.
Look how Charlton, Millwall and Sheffield Wed have improved. Look at Rotherham's signings !!!!!!!!!

Certainly not raised any hopes I had, quite the opposite in fact.

Never been this pessimistic under a new manager before. Probably a cumulative effect given the past 10 months but I don't have high hopes.

To be fair, you didn't have to sell a kidney to watch town in those days.

We were so poor i did not come out for the 2nd half (saw it on the big screen in the bar). Spent the second half chatting with Ryan Sidebottom and then Peter Lorimer...much more interesting. We are already relegated.

He sounds like he's making his excuses already - ie it's a big job. That is worrying
Is Lillis a genius? No is he chuff but he got more out of these players than Powell has to date
Smithies, Peltier, Dixon, lynch, Gerrard, Hudson, Hogg, Majeski, Hammill, Butterfield, Scannell .. have played around 100 games or more at this level (I won't count Stead as he's past it)
Robinson, Ward, wells, Smith are hardly "green" either at this standard
So why are they looking league one now? When they've been established Championship players for years

Its is, don't know which way you went, we've nailed it after going regularly, over the motorway footbridge through Holbeck ghetto, down past new regenerated high rise flats and through the industrial estate onto Bridgewater Place and under the 'dark arches'.

We actually walked to the match that way, as we'd been in The Hop, Midnight Bell & Cross keys, but it seemed to take forever. After the match, I walked past the main stand, under the bridge & turned right at the top of the road & eventually worked my way back to The Hop, via the canal bank. That's the way I always walk it, but I don't think there's much in it, either way. Fuck me mate, how bad were Town offensively though? The usual 'we wouldn't have scored if we'd still been playing now' never seemed more apt. Bunn though was outstanding, but all his good work counted for nothing because there was no one there to take advantage.

I agree on Bunn though he looked our best and most threatening outlet. Thought he was a bit rash when he snatched at his chance in the first half, but we just look blunt and toothless.

We went to Midnight Bell and Cross Keys pre match also; walked through Holbeck (the apartment block and the "park").
Was going to go to a pub on the way but they were either boarded up (the Brit), had no roof on, or looked too rough to risk it (the United Bar).

Yes a lot worse, people who know anything about football can see the negative impact he has had had regardless of results. The worst and most uninspiring start of any manager I can remember. When they've been established Championship players for years Precisely, there is absolutely no way in hell that this squad is anywhere near as bad as some make out, the past three results are purely down to the painfully negative approach taken by Powell, and his seeming lack of intention to actually win a game.

Lots on here moaning about the time taken to appoint a new manager, perhaps we had one in Lillis the players definately responded to him better than they have to CP but thats history. Where do we go from here ? Heres some suggestions...Peltier is a bad influence imo should never have been brought back. He waited for the Ref after Charlton unsavoury scenes in the tunnel, then again he tries to get at Leadbitter and offered him out in the tunnel after Boro. Give the captaincy to Hudson, this is pro football tough shit if it hurts Peltier's feelings. Get a loan striker in before Millwall. Give Murphy a chance create competition. Get Hammill and Radi back in. Go back to 3-5-2 we competed this time last year with this and played a passing game, control midfield and have players in midfield able to create chances...
----------------------------------------------Murphy ------------------Smith/Gerrard-----------Hudson---------------Lynch --Hammill---------------Coady---------Majewski------Butterfield--------------Dixon --------------------------Wells/new signing--------------Bunn/new signing
Subs: Scanz Hogg Robinson Ward Smithies Lolley Wallace
WE HAVE SOME GOOD PLAYERS WITH THE RIGHT MAN MANAGEMENT,SET UP, FORMATION AND BELIEF we can climb to safety
