Neither of these two are "dark uns" however they are both fully "expected" by connections. CLASSIC MOVE 4.50 Carlisle Fri Classy bumper performer in Ireland went to McCains yard and did well over hurdles before losing his confidence at the back end of last season. He's schooled well and is tuned up to deliver off a nice handicap mark on his fencing debut. Available at 4/1 yesterday afternoon he's been backed into 9/4. AETNA - York Sat. Rated as a group one performer with a handicappers rating by connections if she gets cut in the ground, that's what she's got for the first time since early this season. Spittin' Mick Easterby is not everyone's cup of tea, but he loves a winner at York and he can certainly ready one for the occasion. A mate of mine does some work for the owner who's flying in from his Geneva HQ for the race and told him they'll be backing her big tomorrow as she's head and shoulders above the field. Only around 7/2 at the moment, early prices may offer better value around 8.30am tomorrow, 7/2 may look tight now, but not after the race !

LT I have been contemplating writing your Aetna piece almost word for word.. But relented for fear of some smart Alec giving me grief if it didnt win... Spittin mick has eyed this prize since summer... on its comeback a couple of weeks ago it drifted like a barge in the market ( ie needed the run) .before finishing fast after showing signs of ring rust... I agree it's a group horse on softer ground which it will get tomorrow... 7-2 is skinny and like you say it might lengthen in the morning and initially on course.... But I reckon it will be a wholesale gamble with SP 3-1 or less... Lump on
Ps I hope said smart Alec was on my 14-1 arc winner last week and isn't still too distraught about his odds on tip being unplaced a few weeks back ;-)

Likewise, I had a nibble on Treve as I couldn't desert her after last year. Backed her (a mere 12/1) and Taghrooda dutch.

Said mate of mine came to see the Stones in Paris with me in June - rather than discussing the beautiful French fillies on parade all I got in my ear was Aetna Aetna all weekend !!

Eire to win 5-0, 6-0 (already posted this doubled with England 5-0). This will be a good trade I feel sure.

Does the draw effect York at all? Aetna drawn 14.

Statistically high draw slightly favoured over 6 f so that shouldn't be an excuse when it loses

Does the draw effect York at all? Aetna drawn 14. It can do, but it often seems to be where the pace is. 14 is perfect though.

Finland Albania double should pay 8's or 9's, got a good feeling on this one. With extra places available at the next finals there has never been a better chance for some of the 'nearly men' of European international football to take part in a major finals, countries like Finland and Albania will be going hell for leather for one of them extra spots.

I'm on my way to York and since I've no idea about the horses running, are there any others besides Aetna that are fancied today? Cheers

Went to York yesterday and had great time, managed to find 2 winners (homage & storm rock) in what was a difficult day for punters. Today I like De Rigueur e/w 25/1 in the cesarewitch and soviet rock 2.20 york, good luck.

Unlucky Ted, after the first 2 races it wasn't a big surprise to see a result like that in the last, CF paid £920. Soviet Rock ran a shocker, hope for better at Newmarket.
