Good evening all, this is my first topic so please be gentle and apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.
I wondered if you thought Powell had a good chance of winning manager of the month and if so, given its poisoned chalice, would you be happy with the title?
Personally I think it would be good recognition for our manager who has seemingly worked wonders since he took over. After a bumpy start he has made us tough to beat and more importantly busting a gut In games.
I'm not sure how the shortlist is put together but would expect they take into account the previous form.

Can't see past Howe - four wins out of four in October with a GD of +13.

I'd guess he'd rather remain under the radar - then win it next month.

I thought "manager of the month" is the title they put on the contract for the top job over at Leeds?

He'll probably be considered, but wont win. We're still bottom half and a few too many draws I think, when other managers have more wins and are higher up. As Powell said, we'll carry on as we are under the radar and keep grinding out the results.

As Powell said, we'll carry on as we are under the radar and keep grinding out the results. Theres only 3 teams who have gained more points than Town this month. However... It WILL be Eddie Howe, the only 100% win record in Oct, topped off with the 0-8 at Brum today.

I agree that "little old Huddersfield" is up north but Chris Powell is from London which must seriously increase his chances of getting it. Even The Football League Show have started to talk about us in a positive light since we appointed Chris Powell.

Eddie Howe for me too, good young manager. Both stints at B'mouth been very good. If his family could have settled in Burnley who knows he might have been managing in the prem by now.

I read that Forest are likely to be hit with the same. Although the same article did say that there was a meeting of all league clubs in the beginning of November to discuss the issue. It will be really interesting to see who gets hammered with a transfer embargo. If the League stick to their guns (which I think they will have to, for fear of litigation by those clubs that have complied) then it can only bode well for town and fees payable to players will probably come down since there are likely to be less able to be involved in the transfer market. I see the following possibly or probably been hit with a transfer embargo if the League stick to their guns: Forest Bournemouth Leeds Bolton Birmingham Blackburn Reading Boro Watford But only time will tell with Clubs all publishing their accounts over the coming weeks
