Thought he looked decent but wonder if its any coincidence that Coady had his worst game yet.

Only one game so far too early to judge, his ball retention was very good - he rarely gave it away but it was the pace or lack of it that made us more pedestrian than we have been recently, he rminded me of a very raw Chris Marsden.
I am hopeful that he can improve - Coady was by far our worst midfielder yesterday. I think it's unfair to blame Poyet for Coady's poor performance. I believe there is space for him in a midfield 3 with Butterfield and Coady or Hogg. On yesterday's showing I wouldn't be surprised if Hogg, Butterfield and Poyet is the midfield 3 at Bolton if 3 are required by the formation selected.

One thing struck me about Poyet yesterday, at one stage he was about 25 yards from goal with a huge gap in front of him, instead of driving on and shooting he played a crappy square ball. Just reminded me of Steve Doyle from the 1980's !

The most interesting stat yesterday (from Sky) was that Massive and Town have won more English League titles than Chelsea and Man City (7 vs 6). That isn't what they said on Sky, and your stats are incorrect, but apart from that, you are 100% right

I agree I wanted him to shoot but he played a reverse ball through to Bunn (?) who dallied and blew a shooting chance too Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

Just reminded me of Steve Doyle from the 1980's ! My abiding memory of Steve Doyle was him spitting in the face of a black opponent (Roger Palmer of Oldham). Six of us saw it plain as day, strangely enough after that I never saw him in the same light.

I doubt Poyet broke sweat yesterday. His inclusion was probably the main reason we did not perform, that is apart from leaving Wells on the bench. As has been said he is only here for a month so I suppose Powell was obligated to play him, but did we need him? I think a club can have too many players.

He did fine. Give him a chance lads. Some folk have been here three years and they get cut more slack.

I forecast we'll be singing his praises before his month is up, just as with Holt we'll be hoping to extend to the rest of the season. Quality players we can't have enough of, trust in Powell.

In my opinion Poyet was our best player during the first half. He broke up quite a few attacks, played some nice little passes and made sure we kept the ball. His job was to sit and do exactly that, to allow butterfield and coady to push on a bit more. Funny how nobody talks about how poor coady was or Bunn, instead lets pick out the loan player. Bunn was terrible yesterday as was coady, both gave the ball away everytime they had it, played shocking passes, made poor decisions. Ive only seen bunn have one good game, yet to be convinced by him, seems to be that its more that things are just coming off for him and hes having a bit of luck. Hes not skillfull, he more tries to bundle his way past players and yesterday he had no luck and the ball bounced the other way instead of going fir him. Hes very similar to ward in my opinion but ward gets a massive amount of criticism for doing the same things that bunn does. Nobody gives the ball away as much as Dixon. He was Towns worst passer of the ball last season circa 65% accuracy so I have watched him closely this season. He gave the ball away 6 times at Fulham and about the same yesterday. Would be first choice left back for me if he could find a blue and white shirt. As for Poyet.Thought he did ok but with my 55 year old eyes I could have been watching Butterfield or Smith!!!!!!
