since we had a consistant winning team.......and to be honest I don't think we will ever get another 1.......always the same season after season......I would be happy to stay in this league don't get me wrong but its a struggle season after season......it just never happens to us where we go on and win a few and be comfortable throughout the season in mid table........I/v always said when we get in the 2nd tier we always find it hard to stay there and we end up getting relegated.......are we ever going to be stable in this division?personally speaking I don't think so......I hope so but I cant see it.............so there ya go.......one thing for sure its town for life no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!!UTT.....TTID.....................

We had a stable winning side for several years in the division below until we got promotion in 2012. And some people moaned and whinged tht it was terrible to watch and that we would never go up.
We eventually did and now people complain that we are struggling year after year in the higher division. We've had 3 really poor results this season and about as many really good performances.
The club is getting set up to produce younger players which is something that we have never been in this good shape to do so.
The Club cannot compete FINANCIALLY at the top end of this division which is why we are trying to get creative with the academy so we can compete on the pitch against the clubs with massive budgets and parachute payments.

Who knows where we will end up at the end of the season, it will all depend what happens in the January transfer window. I remember the days when we where a good second tier club, yes it is a different beast now with all the money being thrown at it, but with a little luck and the right signings we could still yet be surprised by our final position. Hoyle needs to back Powell full stop!! Not necessarily, but it is a vital time for the club to make us stand more of a chance of surviving, and flourishing

EH DID WE.....a stable winning side?i call a stable winning side loosing 6 games out of 46 scoring 100 goals and knowing more or less everygame we wernt going to loose.....so your telling me you've had this feeling in recent years in the 3rd tier and the 4th?dont think so my friend......we were lucky to go up against Mansfield,,,,Bristol rovers.....sheff utd,,,,,,,,that's another few facts thrown in or am I lieing??

Hoyle needs to back Powell full stop!! I'd look at it the other way round. Powell needs to get the absolute best out of what we have got and add to it prudently and continuously - don't get distracted with January. In fact remember what happened last January. The club backed Robins with a shed load of money! The reason we were a consistent Div 2 club in the 50-60's was that in the era of 2 points for a win and two up two down - everyone was more consistent - you had to be really good or really bad to get move out of your div!

Given in our 106 year history we've scored 100 goals in a season once, I would say you are expecting too much or maybe being a tad unreasonable, even the Chelsea's and Man City's of the current era don't do this consistently.

you might say change the record will ya but I think its a vital point which involves this thread.....for everybody who was around in 1979 -80 iv never felt a feeling like it nor as many of you as well going to watch Huddersfield town.....the match day feeling was totally unreal back then in that season.......I can remember it plain as day and so do many of you......this as not happened since then....and to those who say they have experienced this in modern times I/m afraid your telling porky pies......I can feel it now as I/m posting this very happy times indeed......will it come back?no I don't think so......UTT

Not necessarily, but it is a vital time for the club to make us stand more of a chance of surviving, and flourishing You are correct Mids it is not vital, but it could make a hell of a difference. it is vital, because everyone else will strengthen, if we stand still were fked

Maybe if we dropped down to the depths of the second division, but I don't think many town fans would gamble on that.. Good memories never fade tho..

Agree 79/80 was a great year as well as 69/70 when we went up to what is now the Prem.Been watching since 54/55 and in no other years can I remember going down to Leeds Road and EXPECTING to win - major upset if we drew!!!But that was then and we just do not do that anymore - first 10 mins waiting to see which Town has turned up and if we get in front last 10 mins spent worrying if we can hang on! Other clubs have a strong home record so maybe it's the lack of atmosphere not scaring the away team but CP has said it is his aim to make JS a fortress - needs to start v Brum as despite good results last few weeks never felt we were walking it - even Forest could have two or three! Just get at them and don't let up - easy without worrying what they might do.

we can go mad in January, offload all our unwanted, bring in these 'championship quality' players and still end up shite. Its more how we play and how we approach games, than who is actually playing.
You cant polish a turd, but you can cover a bright shiney object in it...Powell needs to re think because that's what he is doing at the moment with our brighter objects.
play your best team, playing the way they play best. chuck the young managers manual away. If you are going to lose a game , lose it going for it, not hiding and hoping to sneak something. 5-0 on Saturday with us going forward, kicking lumps out of Norwich and generally just fighting for the game would have been different for me. Dismal, heads down and hoping they missed a few chances was all wrong.
