The 'north stand loyal' banner is on the first few rows amoungst all the young kids who stand there with there dad's. Nobody has protested that it's taking up their seat. Your making an issue of something that isn't an issue. I am pro pyrotechnic, and as I said in that Bolton thread. I wasn't bothered by them personally. So are you in favour of pyro in the NSL What's the NSL view on this ? Does the NSL need a view on this, I think the lack of them in the North Stand says all you need to know. They are currently banned in UK stadia I believe and regardless of Ben's personal opinion until that changes then I don't think you'll ever see them used by fans in there.

As someone who brings juniors into the NSL I would like to know ?

I abide by the no pyro law and It's my personal opinion, nothing to do with the NSL. I beleive Peter Sutcliffe should have been publically hanged for his crimes but the law states otherwise. Just because I don't dislike pyro doesn't mean I'm a hooligan and that te whole NSL is.

What is safe controlled pyro in a football stadium tho Ben ? Pyrotechnics controlled by professionals as seen at some cup finals when players walk out. Certain stands/parts of stands where they can be used as seen in Europe. It won't ever happen but I see no harm in it. It's just my view, not the NSL's.

we don't allow smoking in the stands. setting off pyrotechnics would seem to be counter to this??? lots more annoying/potentially dangerous smoke blowing about???
fireworks contain elements which produce harmful smoke if you breath too much of it in, flares contain phosphorus which is incredibly dangerous for many reasons.
better off just letting people smoke a lot and blowing out smoke rings or large amounts of smoke together, whilst shining your I phones behind it in different colours??.. How exciting would that be?, probably about as exciting as a load of morons letting off fireworks!!!!!
Its not an issue for most people of a sensible disposition, we don't need fireworks to 'heighten' our enjoyment of a fucking football match.

Is a f***ing football match same as an ordinary football match ? Much the same, except some people's wives have to pretend they enjoyed one of them.

is an 'ordinary football match' made exciting by letting off fireworks??? unless you are about 5/6 years of age, I don't see it..
honestly I pay to watch football, not the crowd and what they may or may not be doing???
losing a game will not be made 'easier to bear' if we sing louder than the opposition fans or let off more fireworks than them..
some odd and quite worrying posts on this one..

Its simple, if you dont like the nsl dont go in,stay where you are,if you think they dont make an atmosphere make your own instead of having digs about a group of lads enjoying themselves, stop fucking bleating and do something about it. Well thought out ! Its not rocket science.

While I don't share Ben's opinion on fireworks, I don't see how a portion of the crowd singing and enjoying themselves impinges on your watching of the game. As such, you can wear the defeats as heavily as you wish; people want to experience their football differently, and the NSL aren't preventing you doing it. For what it's worth, if I attend a game nowadays, it's a likely to be for the company as much as the game. I wouldn't sing, so I wouldn't go in the NSL. That's as far as that decision goes.

I am a big supporter of the NSL. previous posts bear this out.. singing and chanting or the displaying of banners and trying to get some 'noise and atmosphere' into the ground is laudible. Supporting the team how you want to is great in my book. letting off fireworks and pyro technics does not come under that support, along with being annoyingly drunk/stupid and chanting obsceneties for the sake of it isn't either.. Their is a massive difference between passionate support and stupid behaviour in the context of being a football fan..

I'd love us to be able to have controlled fireworks as part of our displays, given one of our club partners makes the buggers then it might even be feasible?
@number100robbins, If you have concerns about bringing children into the NSL, please don't. Weve made sure we do a lot of things to help accomodate the young fans, and we even give the young uns chance to start songs if they want to. I don't know if you've been to any of the NSL meetings but I'd urge you to come along, meet up with us all, and make a contribution with your thoughts and opinions. We aren't trying to do this 'our way', we're trying to develop the NSL so it caters for the broadest possible spectrum of supporters.

Nobody has ever let off any sort of pyrotechnic in the NSL and it's highly unlikely that anyone ever will. Don't even knows why it's been discussed TBH. I also don't know the there are threads like this on a regular basis with regards the the NSL. Why is there not a thread about the signing section being silent each week? Seems people have taken umbridge with the whole NSL thing for reasons only they know., but as previously mentioned on here if a group of supporters trying something a bit different effects your match day experience so much in a negative way, then I'd suggest that it's you who has the issue, not the NS, so get your arse and do something about it (just like the NSL has) and stop moaning on a internet message board

That was not a dig at Tog , I personally like the guy. I don't like watching kids trying to chip the ball into an inflatable round tube . I know there's cutbacks everywhere but seriously ? Bring back the dizzy penalties at least. Dizzy penalties were immense even i managed to beat the fox at half time last season! UTT!

On reflection maybe, and I suppose anyone actively enjoying the display would run the risk of being tugged off.
