I don't know if anyone else noticed this but on the Rochdale v Stoke match last night, as the camera showed the players going down the tunnel at half time there was a guy sitting next to the tunnel with a clipboard of sorts with a huddersfield bench jacket on scribbling away. Might be a keen artist but quite possibly a scout. Watching who though? we were at the game but nowhere near the tunnel.

we were at the game but nowhere near the tunnel. Looking to get a glimpse of Peter Odemwingie? Month loan offer. Why do fans think we could afford these type of Players - No way on earth would we ever get a player who is on 50k a week on loan. More likely to be Matt Done,Ian Henderson or Peter Vincenti who we are scouting.

Does a scout have to be watching a certain player? Isn't it possible that one could be there at near by game, just to see if anyone catches the eye?

Wouldnt have thought any of those would be suitable, maybe matty done at a push, but hardly an out and out striker, it would be a utility signing to cover strikers and wingers.

More likely to be Matt Done,Ian Henderson or Peter Vincenti who we are scouting. I've seen plenty of Peter Vincenti over the years at Aldershot before he moved to Rochdale a couple of years ago. IMO he was the standout player in a poor Aldershot team and he's really flourished at Rochdale. By all accounts he's a very intelligent and very nice man. I think he's about 28 though and has spent most of his career at the lower levels, but he could just be one of those rare players that reaches his peak later on in his career, and I think he'd have a decent chance of making it at Championship level. He reminds me a bit of Chris Beech who is coaching him at Rochdale and he was the best attacking midfielder Town has had in the last 15 years in my opinion. I doubt, personally, that Town would be watching Vincenti, but I wouldn't object if Town went for him.

Clocks ticking Town....the squad is looking threadbare. No it isn't..... it's a couple light at full back and up front but we still have senior players with experience as follows Smithies Murphy Edgar Smith Wallace Hudson Lynch Dixon Robinson Butterfield Hogg Goburn Coady Billing Sinnott Scanz Bunn Wells Vaughan Lolley It's not the biggest squad I agree .......but I'd rather wait and get real quality than fill up with average players who don't improve us.

Tomorrow would be a lovely time to bring in a couple of new faces for the derby.
It would also leave us with just enough time to grow greedy for more thereafter.

Paul Dixon Dundee United could make a move to bring full-back Paul Dixon back to Tannadice before the transfer window shuts. The Scotland international had a highly-successful spell in tangerine before heading south to Huddersfield Town under freedom of contract in 2012. He was a regular in their starting line-up in the English Championship until former England international Chris Powell took charge earlier this season. It’s understood the Terriers would not stand in his way if the chance to move arose and it’s believed several clubs have been showing an interest. Among those are United. They are aware of his situation and are now weighing up whether or not to attempt to bring him back up north. United have been seeking a permanent left-back since Andrew Robertson moved to Hull City in a £3 million deal last summer. Conor Townsend has mostly filled the gap this term but he looks likely to return south when his season-long loan from Hull ends in May. At 28, Dixon still has a lot to offer and could provide a solution. His attacking play would fit United’s style.
A life-long United fan, despite starting his career over the road at Dundee, he would give serious consideration to returning if the chance arose.
Meanwhile, as preparations continue for Saturday’s League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at Hampden, the coaching staff will be taking a close look at McGowan to see if he’s ready for action straight away.
The former Hearts defender has not seen competitive action since his Chinese Super League season ended with Shandong Luneng Taishan towards the end of November.
While he’s been keeping himself fit, his lack of recent game time could be a problem.

Personally would like to see Dixon stay but if he were part of a deal for one of Dundee's decent players I wouldn't object. Highly unlikely we would get any of their players mind (the likes of Ciftci).

I don't rate Dixon, but considering we only have one other left-back, who's here on loan, it'd probably be daft to get rid of him unless we had a decent offer. Focus right now should be on centre-half and striker, so I wouldn't want to see us shifting attention to left-back.
