Was Pato in the last 6 months of his contract then? Is he gone gone? The loan deal takes Paterson up to the end of his current contract at ‘The Yorkshire Club’; he signed a two year deal upon joining as a free agent in the summer 2013 following his departure from Burnley. From the official site, so yeah he's gone... Also says on there that of the 5 players to leave they've only made a combined total of 9 starts under Powell. www.htafc.com/news/article/huddersfield-town-martin-paterson-orlando-city-2228043.aspx

Paterson is the fifth player to leave Town in the window so far, following on from Jon Stead (loan), Adam Hammill (loan), Danny Ward and Lee Peltier. The five departed players made a combined total of just nine starts during Powell’s 23 games in charge to date.

Will we really miss any one of the five who have gone? No. Will we be noticeably any weaker? No.
Good business. We move on.

The only problem is, what do we do if one of our attacking 5 (bunn, wells, vaughan, butterfield and scannell) gets an injury? There is no senior back up at all now. Im all for shipping the deadwood out but we need 1 or 2 senior attackers in.

We could miss them if we had a lot of bad luck with injuries.
But otherwise not!
We still need strength in a little more depth.

Lewis grabban could be worth a go on loan. Not starting at norwich anymore but a few clubs are looking at him , also a few players playing for man utd and liverpool u21's that could be worth looking at

given the very few games they have between them this season, its difficult to see how we would miss them. I don't think anyone was very much against losing some of the players that powell had no future plans for here. They are all senior players, whilst we continue to have a number of kids who hardly get a look in still here?
cant see powell for a minute elevating those kids.. the bench might look a bit thin if we have an injury or two?

Anyone watching SS2 thinking Nick Powell would be a good loaner until the end of the season

The likes of holmes.sinnott.crooks,majewski,charles,billing,tronstad could be useful as squad players till the end of the season if we need them

couple of injuries and they are more than squad players. 18 needed for games...subs might have to come on in the first few minutes as well as the last..really think that powell wants to put some of the above on the bench and would be very happy to use them if needed??? probably not..

Not fussed about losing any of the players that have left, except maybe Hammill who was decent and could play a few roles, but he's only a loan and I suspect that's to get him back up to speed after being out for so long. The others weren't playing anyway and had no more than a few minutes each, which can be given to youth players. Quite surprised Powell hasn't used the younger players much at all though.

For me this window has been great.in the past we have struggled to get rid of players. Gerrard will be off too and maybe a few more
Powell will have plenty of scope in summer to build his team and then be judge fairly
I just can't see Carroll,Sinnott, crooks and even gobern making the first team regular enough.they should go too for there own good too

Sinnott hasn't had a look in, crooks likewise and whilst I feel a bit for goburn having been dropped at boro, the fact that Powell trusted The new to the club Edgar before him at Wigan tells me there isn't a future for him either. I'd settle for two new signings this window - a striker and a right full back. Neither will be easy to come by, but I trust the current manager more than I did the previous ones who both suffered from a tendency to sign numbers rather than ones who improved us.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but on the Rochdale v Stoke match last night, as the camera showed the players going down the tunnel at half time there was a guy sitting next to the tunnel with a clipboard of sorts with a huddersfield bench jacket on scribbling away. Might be a keen artist but quite possibly a scout. Watching who though?
