So Town don't play and what are we watching? I've seen reference to: North Ferriby. Liverpool kickabouts. Meaningless Friendlies involving teams of no relevance. So, what's your excuse to get away from the wife?

Friday night, England.
Saturday, complete day off from footy.
Yesterday, had Brazil v Chile on in the background whilst varnishing some shelves.

I got home from work last night and Chicago vs Philadelphia was on. I'd missed all the qualifiers so I thought I'd give it a watch. I should have stayed at work!

Friday went out - not interested in England. Saturday played golf. Sunday amused myself with 20 minutes of watching Scotland struggle against Gibraltar until they started scoring so I switched it off.

The only football I watched this weekend was the taped England game on fast forward just 'playing' the goals on normal speed. It took about 15 minutes. I did watch about 9 hours of baseball though

Mrs Marco is Gillingham, so their game got decent attention, beyond that, it was quite an important day in Serie B (Bologna and Carpi winning means there's a bit of a gap opened up there) and we had some good National stuff in France on Friday - Paris FC dropping two points on Red Star after the latter squeaked past CA Bastia.
Aside from that it was League Cup time in Japan (Shonan got a 0-0 at Sagan Tosu) and JEF United Chiba kept up their impressive start to J2.
Marseille drew in a friendly against Nimes, as well. Oh, and Michy Batshuayi scored his first goal for Belgium.

I am watching England....check into my hotel! If i'd have known they were here i would have gone elsewhere. The FA chef is called De'ath...he is the nephew of the goalie Steve Death. By a bizarre coincidence his name is Belgian, from the town of Ath. This morning at 6am i left Ath after staying there the last 15 nights in a rented house...more than strange.

I dropped off my wife, son and daughter at a wedding in Farnham Friday lunchtime then headed north for my uncle's 75th birthday party at Healds Hall Friday night. Left my mum's at 1 on Saturday afternoon, undecided about calling in at Sheff U v Crewe, Chesterfield v Walsall or Mansfield v York. Finally went to Mansfield v York because the one and only time I'd been to Mansfield before was for an FA Cup replay in 1976 when Town lost 2-1. Saw York win 4-1. Mansfield were beyond awful. Got home at 8 and had a curry. Haven't seen one second of the internationals all weekend!

Only football I watched this weekend, Marsden, wind, horizontal rain, mud, brilliant. That pitch is still in better condition than the ploughed field at Valley Parade! And I suspect the football was better to watch as well.
