and if you bulldoze it all out of the way the tax payer is left with a bill for thousands of pounds to clear the mess, As opposed to the thousands of pounds of damage they leave behind. Still I say live and let live! In the same way they live and let live ?

I can't believe the hatred among some on here about travellers. I admire these people who have stuck to their traditions for centuries while we boringly conform to every restriction consessive governments have placed on us in the name of terrorism or back in the day when Thatcher wanted to shut football down. Shame on you Town fans for jumping on the right wing agenda and demonising anybody who isn't like you. Most travellers are hard working men and women care deeply about their families unlike most men I know who play golf and use sport as an excuse to wear ridiculous clothing and spend half a day away from their families. Town fans, can we not think for ourselves rather than jumping on the usual madcap right wing Ukip influenced rhetoric? we are not Nazis. You missed off the smiley face. People think you're being serious when you don't put a smiley face at the end.

Social media encourages polemical viewpoints; why give a reasoned response when the real impact is in giving radically right or left wing sound bites. As Depeche Mode sang "people are people so why should it be? You and I get should get on so awfully." Peace, love, understanding, tolerance, calm, beauty, friendship. Why must we tarmac everybody with the same brush.
PS - everything in life can be sorted with a Martin Gore lyric.

You seriously agree with that utter bollocks Ted? Your experience of them must be nil. being sick to death of scum travellers is not a right wing issue. Unless of course the implication is that anyone who values laws, justice, tax payers money , the respect for property and public spaces is 'right wing'.

Nothing to do with being right wing (whatever that even means) or whatever for me, more a case of "you're here illegally, so you have 15 minutes to leave before the JCB arrives and bulldozes the lot, your choice".

Answer: “It is hard for you to kick against the pricks” was a Greek proverb, but it was also familiar to the Jews and anyone who made a living in agriculture. An ox goad was a stick with a pointed piece of iron on its tip used to prod the oxen when plowing. The farmer would prick the animal to steer it in the right direction. Sometimes the animal would rebel by kicking out at the prick, and this would result in the prick being driven even further into its flesh. In essence, the more an ox rebelled, the more it suffered. Thus, Jesus’ words to Saul on the road to Damascus: “It is hard for you to kick against the pricks.” Of the better-known Bible translations, the actual phrase “kick against the pricks” is found only in the King James Version. It is mentioned only twice, in Acts 9:5 and Acts 26:14. The apostle Paul (then known as Saul) was on his way to Damascus to persecute the Christians when he had a blinding encounter with Jesus. Luke records the event: “And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” (Acts 26:14 KJV). Modern translations have changed the word pricks to goads. All translations except the KJV and NKJV, omit the phrase altogether from Acts 9:5. Read more: www.gotquestions.org/kick-against-the-pricks.html#ixzz3XYPYg0md

I know I'll probably be slated beyond belief for this, but as far as I'm concerned, if they're somewhere they shouldn't be illegally, then rather than farting about for days on end having to go to court, get them removed, then enforce it, blah blah blah, just get a JCB and bulldoze the lot out of the way. They shouldn't be there, so get rid. If I HAVE to be kind, then get the JCB there and tell them they have 15 minutes to clear up and get lost otherwise the JCB will do it's job. If they're somewhere that they're allowed to be, fair enough, but otherwise, get rid ASAP. I've lived in Dartford Kent and Darlington there is nothing to admire about men of the turnpike. They ran an illegal waste disposal business near my house in Dartford, burning all the waste. The amount of intimidation and illegal activity in darlo was beyond belief. The Garda have the right idea on how to deal with them but they have guns.
