I can't believe the hatred among some on here about travellers. I admire these people who have stuck to their traditions for centuries while we boringly conform to every restriction consessive governments have placed on us in the name of terrorism or back in the day when Thatcher wanted to shut football down. Shame on you Town fans for jumping on the right wing agenda and demonising anybody who isn't like you. Most travellers are hard working men and women care deeply about their families unlike most men I know who play golf and use sport as an excuse to wear ridiculous clothing and spend half a day away from their families. Town fans, can we not think for ourselves rather than jumping on the usual madcap right wing Ukip influenced rhetoric? we are not Nazis. Like thieving and ripping people off? A mobile crime follows them wherever they go. There's a huge difference between Romany Gypsies and Irish travellers, don't get the 2 mixed up.

First time EVER As you can imagine I've just been dancing round the garden shouting "In your face" . Got a few funny looks I think you'll find the bible is a fairytale. Teds argument is nothing more than a make believe explanation. Was about to post the exact same thing. I'm sure the word 'fucktard' has been written in other works of fiction as well so they're both right or wrong depending on how you look at it. Ted needs to reverse his dance.

I didn't call anyone a prick whereas the other guy called the other guy a fucktard... hope this helps

In the 80,s I worked for Whitbread London as a relief manager.I did a 12 week stint at a pub in Hightown Luton,One night about a dozen of these gentlemen made an appearance in my tap room {yes we had one of them,it was a spit and sawdust pub} I thought I,d better nip this in the bud.{The other bar was an Irish conclave..get my drift?}So I singled out the "leader"and told him any bother would be dealt with.the response was pretty good and no trouble ensued...I week after I left one of em got knifed to death outside the pub....The guy that took over from me obviously was no diplomat..wink wink.

You called most of the posters on this thread 'pricks' a few posts back. yo I didn't call anyone a prick mate. its from the bible... if you wasn't such an uneducated prick you'd have known that (<-- winky smiley denoting joke) Question: "What does it mean to kick against the pricks?" Answer: “It is hard for you to kick against the pricks” was a Greek proverb, but it was also familiar to the Jews and anyone who made a living in agriculture. An ox goad was a stick with a pointed piece of iron on its tip used to prod the oxen when plowing. The farmer would prick the animal to steer it in the right direction. Sometimes the animal would rebel by kicking out at the prick, and this would result in the prick being driven even further into its flesh. In essence, the more an ox rebelled, the more it suffered. Thus, Jesus’ words to Saul on the road to Damascus: “It is hard for you to kick against the pricks.” Of the better-known Bible translations, the actual phrase “kick against the pricks” is found only in the King James Version. It is mentioned only twice, in Acts 9:5 and Acts 26:14. The apostle Paul (then known as Saul) was on his way to Damascus to persecute the Christians when he had a blinding encounter with Jesus. Luke records the event: “And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” (Acts 26:14 KJV). Modern translations have changed the word pricks to goads. All translations except the KJV and NKJV, omit the phrase altogether from Acts 9:5. Read more: www.gotquestions.org/kick-against-the-pricks.html#ixzz3XYPYg0mdOh, I can see my silly error then. Only for a minute I thought you were being laughably hypocritical.

Keep Kicking against the pricks Joe ... You seriously agree with that utter bollocks Ted? Your experience of them must be nil. being sick to death of scum travellers is not a right wing issue. Unless of course the implication is that anyone who values laws, justice, tax payers money , the respect for property and public spaces is 'right wing'. It is most definitely a right wing issue. Freddie Eastwood spent large chunks of his career roaming the right wing of football pitches up and down this country. And he never left a mess.

You own me? Maybe you could sell me to the next cheerful band of law abiding tinkers and fortune tellers that pass your house in their horse drawn, intricately decorated wooden caravans? Im a hard worker, tidy and honest so would fit in well with their centuries old traditions, though i would need a lot of hedgehog meat to keep me going. I'll kick a prick before I leave.

I once saw him leave a football in a garden. Typical! We find an exception to the stereotypical rule and he ruins it. Did he leave human excrement though?

A mobile crime follows them wherever they go. There's a huge difference between Romany Gypsies and Irish travellers, don't get the 2 mixed up. Certainly none of them come from Egypt. Apparently Romani gives us the words shiv, pal and chav. There's some theories that the groups are related - the Irish variety being the descendants of Romani people who arrived in Ireland sometime after the Anglo-Norman Marcher lords invaded. Certainly a significant portion of their language is Romani (with the rest being Gaelic.)

I know I'll probably be slated beyond belief for this, but as far as I'm concerned, if they're somewhere they shouldn't be illegally, then rather than farting about for days on end having to go to court, get them removed, then enforce it, blah blah blah, just get a JCB and bulldoze the lot out of the way. They shouldn't be there, so get rid. If I HAVE to be kind, then get the JCB there and tell them they have 15 minutes to clear up and get lost otherwise the JCB will do it's job. If they're somewhere that they're allowed to be, fair enough, but otherwise, get rid ASAP. Agree 100%,wherever they go they leave a mess, nobody likes them and its not surprising, horrible people where generally wherever they encamp crime is expected to go up.

once saw some travellers being 'moved on' by 2 ford sierra xr4is.. both blacked out and no number plates full of blokes in masks with shotguns..
police and council had taken months apparently, these fellas shifted them all on in under 20 minutes..
guess it depends who's land you try and 'use'...
Alternative lifestyles are all very acceptable as long as your 'alternative' life is bought and paid for legally and however alternative it does not impinge detrimentally on others, you know the same rules as anyone else etc..
If not, then occasionally the cars with the nasty men in are going to turn up...

I found myself at an Ipswich v Wolves game a few years back....I saw Freddie Eastwood lay a shit pass to Jay Bothroyd. I think he got subbed at half time.
