From that list I think only Kim Bo-Kyung or Paul Anderson would add anything to our squad. Anderson would provide strong competition to Scannell and for the other flank. His wages wouldn't be too high either. A good, solid Championship player with something to prove. Solid enough ... but slow. Can't see him providing competition to Scannell or Lolley tbh. Hewitts career has stalled he looked a great prospect at Macclesfield at 16 and then after playing a little for Ipswich has been on loan Colchester last 2 seasons suppose he could be interested in moving back north and will only be 21 in 11days

Wednesday supporting friend says he's crap. I wouldn't have thought any players released by Wednesday have shown too much over the last couple of seasons. I was just curious to know if he was a target of ours at one point or another as he went with quite a bit of hype - may have dodged a bullet with him. Seems like we have!

Radi Majewski is attracting interest from League One Scunthorpe United and will be allowed to move on if the right offer comes in.

Oscar Gobern set to leave Huddersfield Town but interest in Bradford City's Billy Knott played down linkIts a shame in a way, he seems too good to just let go on a free, but on the other hand, I don't think he complements the players we already have in the middle of midfield. Butterfield seems to be the only one with any sort of offensive ability, so if he doesn't play were screwed. So I'm happy for Gobern to leave if it means we could bring someone else in, perhaps offering something different to the current midfielders.

If I was to hazard a guess it would be that he has been offered a wage cut as opposed to an automatic one year extension on current terms.

Goberns probably wanting a lot more than Town are prepared to offer, good luck to him wherever he ends up.

However, he has hardly featured for 4 years with injuries and being deemed just not quite good enough (until now), by a succession of managers. Hoyle and Co probably realised that he just isn't worth the wage he was on and rightly so - don't forget that when he signed we were splashing out a bit on wages until the club saw sense. He's probably on a wack that is similar to other players who have produced consistently. Nice to see that the club are not being taken for mugs and just paying up, bowing to agents. I can see him ending up at a club that can splash on wages (Brizzel City - now owned by a multi-billionaire), or he might drop down a league to a Sheff United, Wigan perhaps.

Considering he cost quarter of a million and was presumably on related wages, I don't really think he can be considered anything but a relatively expensive flop. He certainly played well for a few matches at the end of the season but that was about it - never looked to have enough stamina for any 90 minutes, repeatedly injured and I'm struggling to think what else he produced in his years here. Certainly nothing on a regular or reliable scale. Does playing well for a month when your contract's due for re-negotiation after several years warrant us keeping him ! Not for me.

It said that he had been offered a new deal, but If I was Gobern I wouldn't necessarily want to extend here because as stated above he has been here 4 years and has yet to establish himself, he played towards the end of last season but even then it was when first choice Hogg got injured. He only has to look at the development squad and see Billing our highly touted prospect who should be pushing for first team appearances next season. I would guess the club still has the 1 year option in it's back pocket to trigger should it wish to like it did last year with Ward.

We hardly saw a fit and motivated Ward in the few games he played this season after we extended his contract.

The biggest thing for Towns midfield is to keep hold of Jacob Butterfield. We would really struggle to replace him IMO, couldn't see us getting someone of his calibre should he go. We managed to pull off a bit of a masterstroke when we got him to replace Clayton, couldn't see us doing it twice !!
