I notice there are a couple of car boot sales at the Macron Stadium (Bolton) this month. And we are complaining about our finances. Perhaps we should get along & see who is available! On a serious note if anyone has time could they look on BBC Sport (Nottingham Forest) where you will see their Chairman saying they have signed three players, all the paperwork has been registered with the Football league on time (6pm yesterday) and full details will be announced on the Forest website soon. Does anyone know (I guess FFP has something to do with this) what it actually means.

Can we still sign players who are out of contract? As long as they were released before the transfer window shut. So if Messi was released tomorrow he wouldn't be able to get a club until the summer

I genuinely think that CP would like to sign Sordell - but is waiting for DATM to show approval via posting movements or at least, a poll?

Shola Ameobi or Marvin Sordell
It's a bit like being capture by terrorist and offered the option of having your eye balls pulled out or having each finger nail pulled off with pliers

Well, as you say that, I actually think he's worth a gamble (just a contract till the end of the season with us having the option to extend it, like we did with Miller). He showed he had ability when he first broke on to the scene at Watford and persuaded a PL club to spend a seven figure fee on him. Clearly his career his stalled the last few years, but hopefully that would mean he comes here with a point to prove/a final chance at this level. With our budget, we're never going to sign the complete package - they have to either be young, from a lower level, or have had a stumble in their career and he fits that bill. I get the feeling I'm in a very small minority with that opinion, though.

Is it finger nails being pulled off or having something stuck down underneath them that is supposed to be one of the most painful things you can experience?
Either way, the point was that neither option is very pleasant. What's Leon Knight up to these days?

I'd take Shola over Sordell, surely all that experience in the PL would give us something (although Tbf I'd take playing with 10 men over Sordell)

Sordell is gash but since Powell had him at Charlton I fully expect him to turn up here, if Powell still in charge of course.

All this talk of Powell leaving. Are people expecting him to walk or Hoyle to sack him?
I'd have thought neither is very likely anytime soon.

Wasn't a dig at Powell signing Charlton players more that he obviously likes the lad as he took him to Charlton, he's free and he knows him so it wouldn't surprise me.

All this talk of Powell leaving. Are people expecting him to walk or Hoyle to sack him? I'd have thought neither is very likely anytime soon. When he first came in as manager. I said I'd give him 10 games before saying if he was a decent appointment.. One year later and that seems to still apply, only this time I would imagine the next 10 games will make or break his managerial career at town.

Would be more chance of CP walking than getting the boot from DH. Ask yourselves this how many if you actually think CP knocked on DH and Websters door and said I would like to sign jamie patterson. I for one think JP is a DH signing very much like Jon stead was. DH missed out on him and was vey open about the fact he wanted him here when we signed martin patterson instead. I have said it before DH should leave our managers to manage. This has been the trouble at town for a long time.CP is working under conditions like the others before him I am sure he didn't sign up for.

On DATM the club is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't. If they bring in youngsters from other clubs they're declared shite because they're unproven and raw, but if they sign established recognised stars they're declared past it and shite too. It really doesn't matter who we sign because somebody, somewhere will know someone who knows the players sister-in-law who says he's shite. Can't win.

Footballs changed , rightly or wrongly ( probably wrongly for me) just about the only manager who is allowed to manage is mourinho and he had to go off and have a hissy fit for five years in order to secure his terms and conditions ...

I agree it's changed for the worse ted but DH has interfered with recruitment and in turn player slection more than he should have. He started off well granted and prob the free spending LC put him off but for me it should have been a learning curve not the green light for him to decide who we sign. It should be the manager who selects the players he wants to sign so that formations work, that wau allowing him to do his job. For the chairman to decide who we are signing and then saying to the manager make that player work is crazy. DH should sanction the move of any player coming to the club yes, To identify a player and sanction NO. DH is a massive reason as to the money he has spent he is also the reason we have had a number of managers, crowds are falling and we are in a relegation battle most seasons in the championship. I am not having a dig for the sake of it but for goodness sake Dean you are not a stupid man you wouldn't be a multi millionaire if you were. But look at whats happening. CP might not be the right man if he isn't fair do but just let him manage if he fails get shut but you need to invest in the club if you want to keep us in the championship.
