The next 5 or 6 games will be huge for us and a great indication of what division we'll be playing in next season, I reckon. I hope Powell knows what he's doing, because they have not directly addressed the weak areas that fans have been pointing out for a long time now. The fact that just about every club's fans seem to always think they know where the area of weakness is/are, suggests they probably often don't or it's nothing like as easy to fix as they imply. It'll be like the shock many admin/worker face when they first move into management, whatever industry/field. The odd fan may have the requisite knowledge and skills to do a better job than Powell, but my bet is it's somewhere between 0 and 2%.

There is only here say regarding stead, nothing factual. Although I do believe it myself to be true. Our transfer policy is decided by a group in which the man with the money " probably " has the final say. The rest my friend is guess work, But that's just it, It isn't guess it's not hard to see what's going on, We were linked with Patterson before he signed for Forrest, DH has openly said that he was disappointed not to sign him, He ended up with the other Patterson instead, When he becomes available this window we end up signing him on loan. It's hardly coincidental is it, the point is two different Managers at each time one chairman, That tells me all i need to know, The more worrying thing is i don't believe this is the first time it's prob happened and the second is JP doesn't look over thrilled to be here on the announcement picture, Mind you who can blame him, I repeat, It should be the Manager and Webster identifying the players with only DH signing the cheques, Far two many business men think they can bring the rules of outside business to the footy table and it just doesn't work, It's a beast of it's own making. I have no real problem as such with DH as chairman, But that is where it should end, Christ people on here have slatted Vincent Tan at Cardiff and Massimo Cellino at Leeds for buying players and interfering with team selection, For me it's no different to whats going on here, Only difference is the other two characters are not trying to pretend to be saints.

I think on behalf of the club Dean said they were disappointed not to sign him first time round. So what - why is it worrying you? Didn't Paterson say he was aware of Town's interest a couple of weeks ago. He's not a knee jerk reaction to losing Butterfield.

It's okay, Dean also said that he wants to finish around tenth and would love a crack at the Prem league for the money. But in DATM terms it means we're preparing for League 1 and he's claiming back his losses...

I am making the point as someone else said i was wrong, That the signing of JP is clearly another signing of DH and although CP may well have agreed to it, DH will have done the leg work on it, We were linked with him before and lost out to Forrest when we couldn't compete with them, Now he becomes available we are the ones lucky enough to sign him. I am over the moon shame the player doesn't look the same.

If Dean thinks we can finish Tenth with the squad we have even before selling our best players, Then he truely has lost the plot

I think you are putting 2 and 2 and 2 together and getting 11. What's the point in speculating unless you know? The only thing that needs to be taken into consideration is - is Paterson good enough and will he improve the team.

I am fully aware of the role that Ross Wilson and Webster are employed to do, I am also aware like everyone else what the role of CP is, Doesn't mean to say they allowed to do the role with the freedom they should have. Two different men employed by the same club in the same role at different times go knock on DH door and say JP he will solve our problems and we get lucky second time around, Coincidence, Yes Right,

You are making summat out of nowt. With a bit of luck we might have got a decent player on the cheap.

Walsall sold Paterson first time round to the highest bidder, second time round Forest want him off the wage bill. Different scenarios altogether. The chairman would be rolling on the floor laughing at your naivety mate.

If you go back about 10-15 pages on this thread I brought up Paterson as a potential target but I wasn't plucking names out of the sky, I just recognise he's a quality player.. Maybe the professionals at the club paid to make the decisions thought the same? He became available so they moved to get him.. No conspiracy here, just haveitback on her period again!

Like all the other clubs at this level we / Webber will have dossiers on hundreds of players, as they become available it will be Webbers job to try to get them in, deal with agents etc. as per Chris Powell's wanted list, you know that, I know that. jeeez!

What has a period got to do with anything it's disrespectful to millions of women who have no choice about the matter yet have to cope with it. Yet small minded people such as yourself feel it is something they can say to someone in a debate to try and get the upperhand. Pathetic.

Godshot I don't mind having a difference of opinion with you and debate differing views but please don't put words in my mouth. I never said it was a bad thing. For the record I think it's a good thing.

I guess u just couldn't resist having your input. A debate or conversation or bit of mud throwing wouldn't be the same without the regulars been involved. Keep up the good work.

Not really been following things since Tuesday but has anyone from the club come out yet and mentioned anything about the loan window? Assume we'll be dipping our toe in when it opens?
