that comment will give the "NO AMBITION" gang a load of ammunition to bang away on their keyboards Well the " no ambition" gang need to come join the rest of us back in the real world. Since when has football operated in the real world?

Rotherham want Wallace on loan allegedly Would be a good move that, we can bring in better and he can develop. good defender in there but we're not in the best position to let him develop in our first team

Must be wages that is the problem with McGugan, because surely the quoted 500k isn't out of our price range? Its not the fees its usually the wages and despite doing a good deal on coady the club is losing money as are most so some balancing of the books are needed. Im sure a couple more will arrive before the transfer window shuts and went down to training this morning and a good session it was t oo . 3 or 4 youngsters will probably go on the spain trip along side the seniors.

Perhaps ive just missed it - reminds me of a poor mans graham mitchell. Not sure how you cant see that. He's put in some excellent displays in a good league as a 22 year old CB and shown he can be good enough at this level if he can perform like that consistently. He's also put in a few shockers and sometimes looks way off it, but I think its more down to inexperience and being in and out of the team than ability.

Maybe ive just seen the shockers then - at blackpool the season before last he gave the worst centre half performance ive seen since gordon tucker, and whilst at times i agree he looks ok, there is always a mistake around the corner for me and at 22 im not sure how much more he will improve. Unfortunately, if you get in the team you have to perform to stay in - smith and bunn prove that, but murray (or worry as i call him!) hasnt come close imo.

I remember that Blackpool game and although i agree with your initial points, I don't think it's fair to use that game as an example. As I recall we had a lot of the ball, well the back 3 did. But the lack of movement in front was static and practically non existent. he reverted to trying dinking over their back four which came to nothing time and time again, and he got subbed before half time? Everyone was terrible that game including Clayton so i don't think it's a good benchmark to see how good a player he is... Saying that i always wince when i see Hudson and Wallace as a CB pairing

At £2.5m I hope you weren't expecting us to be in there for him!

The kind of transfer business being done and the players way out of our price range are reinforcing my thinking that we are going to be really up against it this season. I'll be happy just to stay up this season personally, even so called lesser teams are spending decent money. Im fine with the way the club is being run as I don't expect the chairman to throw his cash at the job season after season but we are increasingly going to more and more have to live up to his request for the club to 'punch above its weight' just to stay up. I hope I'm wrong but to me talk of the squad we have finishing mid table and above is pie in the sky !!! I don't think many players are out of our price range in terms of transfer fees. As long as the club can see an opportunity to make a profit on them. Busting the wage structure and the "total" package is probably more of an issue.

He's usually the stand in for Lynch rather than Hudson. He had a good game at Bournemouth when we were under big pressure playing against Wilson, so there is some potential there. I do think a loan spell would be beneficial for him - and the club in the long run.

Captain calamity, I thought Wallace would develop into a good centre back with Hudsons guidance!

At £2.5m I hope you weren't expecting us to be in there for him! Wells averaged a goal every 220 mins whereas Vossen averaged a goal every 229 mins last season, scoring 7.. Yet Wells is overpriced, overrated & can't cut it in the championship according to some on here.. For £2.5m (twice as much as Wells) i'd be expecting a proven, guaranteed 20 goals a season striker.. He might turn out to be prolific but he seems expensive to me.

you cant compare tom Clarke to Wallace. everybody on here would love to have a game upfront against him hes weak and as bad that performance against blackpool was surely his performance in the 5-1 thrashing at elland road was even worse. he did play well against Bolton at home this year though but then again they did have eidur gudjohnsson and emile heskey upfront who are old enough to be his grandparents!

Beadle had to be behind that one!

Old enough to be his grandparents? Well, exaggerating apart, I would also expect them to have had a tad more experience too, so well done Wallace on that one. thumb up

I hope wells talk will die down now- cant see anybody else been in for him. in other champ news mceachran will sign a 4yr deal with Brentford! im a little worried about this mcgugan talk on reflection as we only sold coady outta the blue on Friday and 24hours later we are rumoured to be having bids rejected - he was never an original target so im worried its a bit of a knee jerk reaction and we should maybe take stock of the market before calling Watford just because we know they have players to sell

Scunthorpe 04 for them who cant remember I effing left early to go to the pub as we surely had no chance at 2-1 down with only 10 men.............and only went and missed super subs double strike ffs still bothers me to this day
