The only sufferers if Sky pulled out would be the overpaid players...But the game has changed a lot meanwhile, non contact, slow possession football, diving and acting....it's not the blood and thunder it used to be where you got a full 90 minutes action.. No substitutes...no added time...Nah, they've made a right bollocks of the game.... Exactly. Somehow the game has allowed the players to cream off virtually all of the profits available due to the extra TV money. If anything clubs are worse off in this day and age. The only ones to benefit are the players. Staggering it's been allowed to happen to be honest.

Sad to admit it, but I have a relatively wealthy mate who refuses to pay full price unless he has to. I have to get him cheap tickets whenever they are available and lend him my season card if I'm away. On regular match days he'll turn up and hang around outside the turnstile in the hope that someone will knock him out a spare for a fiver or, at worst, a tenner. Hell, he's even scored free ones plenty of times. Says he won't buy a season card or even share one with another mate because he can't get to a reasonable proportion of games. Many more with that attitude and it's easy to see why season cards don't sell. (Rob, if you're reading this, I hope you're embarrassed! )

when they go to the cinema, if they don't get to sit in their favourite seat do they storm off without watching the film? If they paid for a specific seat they looked to sit in for an entire years worth of films, and at the very best of those films they were told they had to sit in an inferior (in their opinion) position... Then they wouldnt be back the following year I'd hazard. No they wouldn't I expect and they'd not go to that or any cinema ever again in protest even though the cinema ( that they have enormous emotional attachment to) is losing money hand over fist and was only trying to fit some extra folk in to make some much needed money ( so they can put on better films in the future!) . I wonder how these people fared back in the Leeds Road days if someone was stood in 'their spot'. Did they go home?

Well, they wouldn't, cos I'm soft... but people just didn't stand against "our bar", even even it was the occasional big cup game when loads of floaters turned up... It just didn't happen.

That is a complete and utter w**k analogy. ...& TBH if you can't recognise the complete & utter difference between supporting a football CLUB (if we're not just a business now) to the extent you've had a season ticket for many years and occasionally going to a cinema then there's no point in debating it with you.

Presuambly that support doesn't involve the possibilty of moving seats for a couple of games? I've been genuinely surprised by how many have got their knickers in a twist about this.

I have renewed, however 3 of my mates haven't and based their decision on the news release about fans being moved from their chosen seats for high profile games. I'm not saying they are right or wrong but that's their decision and I do know there are a few more, that said I don't know if they will change their minds pre season but doesn't seem so. when they go to the cinema, if they don't get to sit in their favourite seat do they storm off without watching the film? I don't know it's not the sort of thing that crossed my mind to ask, I wonder why

I said this when prices were announced but for me and my 13 year old lad it's almost £600 ok so we could go in family stand for £350 but for £350 I can get 2 season tickets in family stands at Everton , Liverpool and Man city all of which contain players that he plays with on FIFA . I know all arguments about its our club etc but I've a sneaking suspicion if I gave him a choice we would be watching premier league next year ! They are too much money it's simple !!

Not too surprised by this - the football we served up at home was dull for most of the season - several games aside (including the end which should help sales!)
And we've also decided to annoy fans in the area where the crowd is most dense
Plenty of time but 6 per cent down isn't far from what I expected

The whole football and money thing is tiresome. It's the same as when the national deficit is mentioned. Clubs will lose money, clubs will win money - no one walks away from a football club in profit (unless you're Milan Mandaric). But these people can afford to lose money. They won't run out of electricity on their prepayment meter anytime soon, or not be able to run a bath because they've not paid their gas.

I don't know about Everton but there are long waiting lists for season tickets at Man city and Liverpool. You would have no chance of getting a season ticket for you and your lad.

by the time you knock off the ground rent fee etc, a pay at the gate fan attending about 7 games puts in as much £ as a SC holder paying interest free over 10 months.... As for the cut price deals, Town have two promos a season, usually for the least attractive fixtures... They say that, but I got into about 5 games for £10 last season, and had offers for around three more that I couldn't attend. If you have kids that go to different schools, and kids that play football, you soon discover how many promos there are! Fair enough, not sure if it's only Town doing the offers, or Groupon and the Examiner doing them. I was basically meaning adult offers by Town during a season, where Town state they have 2 'Promos' per season. For the number of casual fans there are now it seems almost futile, and for those that don't normally go at all but can get a cheap ticket so might pop down just twice a season I suppose they're happy enough. Town's problem is that non of this promo stuff is having any effect on the declining gates. Sure we might get the odd promo game with a bigger attendance, but non of those extra fans are coming back....they simply will not pay full price..

Yea you are probably right in truth I didn't check what was available I just checked at prices in family stands. Maybe the reason there is a waiting list is because they are £350 for 2 ! I know it's really difficult for the club but just trying to make the point that £600 for 1 adult and 1 , 13 yr old (not in best part of ground ) is s bit steep and maybe a factor why we only sold 6.5k tickets so far

It strikes me that the current stadium rent formula of pounds per head is hindering us reducing ticket prices.
It doesn't make sense to me upping the price and getting less ticket holders when you can lower the price and get more, this leads to increased atmosphere and merchandise sales

All of the 'offers' I attended last season were directly from Town. I think where they say two they mean 'open to all and publicised to all'. Theres at least four offers a season of £10 (or £15, cant remember which) plus a free kid sent home just from one school alone.
