He'll be a good signing for them, he's experienced at League One level, should prove his worth.

Great signing for bury.......a young team with lots of energy apparently, and Clarke should prove invaluable in helping them kick on.

In the top few centre halves for desire and effort I've seen at Town in my time.

Sounds like a great fit for both player & club.
It is worth following Bury's progress under local lad Stewart Day with interest.

Brilliant signing for Bury, I've always had a soft spot for them due to some classic encounters both home and away against them in the old Leeds Road era. Good luck to him and them next season, can see them being League Ones surprise package next season with the structure they've put in place behind the scenes.

What do you base that on?
Looked to still be pretty much the same player that left us from what I've seen. His game was never about pace or athleticism, he'll easily contribute in League 1, and provide that focal point of leadership that can help drive them on.

He wasn't quick even when 21.

Good luck to him and them next season, can see them being League Ones surprise package next season with the structure they've put in place behind the scenes. I've liked Bury for similar reasons. My first ever Town away game was a Bury in April 1966 when Town won 4-0, including three in four minutes, then the second game I saw at Gigg Lane was when they lost 0-7 v Nottingham Forest in the League Cup in 1980, followed by 0-6 v Town in 88-89! I missed the 6-0 to them and the 4-4 classic! So, three home games at Gigg Lane and 17 goals conceded, none scored! Who couldn't like a club like that? I saw Bury at AFC Wimbledon last season when they lost 3-2 but looked a decent side. Best of luck to Peter Clarke, I'm sure he has at least another couple of seasons in him at League 1 level, and a guy I'll always have respect for.

I've met his parents few times in Rope, very supportive. Don't be so negative on him.

Fair play to PC. Will be a good player for Bury. You will never hear a bad word from me about a player who always gave 110% to the cause.

If the theory is " he was good at the end of his town spell as he was at the beginning ..he was always slow and the only thing that changed was quality of opposition " ... Then I'm sorry I don't agree ...

His legs looked Ok when we played against him a few weeks ago, especially when one of his legs unleashed an absolute thunderblunder that needed a top drawer save from Smithies, to prevent a goal.

So when players get older, they all implicitly know EXACTLY when is the best time to retire ? Of course not... I'm not saying Clark is " shot" .. What I'm saying is that IN MY OPINION ( thanks for allowing me to have one ) Clark being a success at Bury isn't the " gimme" you are all saying ... Why don't we reconvene in 12 months time ?

Wish him well, but age has definitely caught up with him - he's too slow but might just be ok in the 3rd division

PC...He may not be the quickest but has the heart of a Lion with passion to match....The comparison of his tears at Old Trafford to his chest pushed out on the winners balcony at Wembley say it all about the man that led the Terriers to the Championship........Best of luck Clarky.

Sounds like a great fit for both player & club. It is worth following Bury's progress under local lad Stewart Day with interest. I used to be mates with Stewart when I was younger, he lived 3 doors down from me, we used to go to Town games together for a period. He moved away and we lost touch, he seems to have ok for himself anyway. I still see his sister about as she lives not far from me.

No offence Art, have you got any other mates that used to attend town games with you but decided enough was enough and moved away? rofl3

They were both decent players, especially Stewart who played above his age. He then disappeared & evidently became minted He must be mad getting involved in footy but good luck to him.
