Why wouldn't we offer Leeds fans the extra seats? Our health and safety team are hugely spoilt by us having a half empty stadium with massive gaps between home and away stands... Though they still feel the need to add extra segregation to this! Whenever we get close to having a full stadium with a decent atmosphere, they decide it's unsafe and switch us to a lunchtime. I've been to the Tyne Wear derby, where a few men in high vi and some cordoned off seats are sufficient to keep people from beating each other to death. There are picture of the Old Firm having a few seats between sets of supporters, same with Man United - Liverpool, Arsenal - Spurs and basically any other two sides who dislike one another with the possible exception of Millwall. If we're genuinely bottling giving extra tickets to Leeds fans, when are we going to decide it's safe to put away fans in there? Someone above mentioned Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa were possible candidates for extra tickets, but each of those groups of fans have tools amongst their fanbase, why would a health and safety pencil pusher allow these supporters to attend but not Leeds fans? Cordon off half a block (I'm being generous there, the blocks are huge!) and put a few stewards in there and job's a good one. If anyone starts behaving aggressively, the police can do their job and get the perpetrators out of there whilst allowing 3,000 extra football fans to watch their team play a football match like 99% of people want to. Just to point out Leeds severely restrict us in ticket numbers, wonder how WYP would react if we were given 30% of Elland Road? As I mentioned earlier, Leeds are able to hold our matches at Elland Road at 3pm, moved away fans to outside a big home fans' pub and don't restrict the way home fans can leave the stadium after a match. All of which Town have seemingly been unable to negotiate with the same police force. With this in mind, I daresay that Leeds would manage to give over 30% of their ground to Town fans if they decided to. Would be a bit ridiculous given the numbers we tend to take though!

Slight exaggeration there Ted, as I said, Leeds restrict our numbers, are you suggesting we couldn't take more than our allocation? Leeds don't fill Elland road, on average less than two thirds full Unless I'm.much mistaken there have been times we haven't taken up even meagre allocations ?... And is there a 24K capacity on our ground.. how many sts have we sold this year ? I was being hypothetical and not suggesting we would take 10000 to Leeds, just pointing out we are limited to about half the away capacity (3000) with our allocation at massive Leeds.

Yeah but we can't even fill it... And how leeds run their business has no bearing on whether Dean should swell the club coffers by 10s of 1000s surely ? .. The two things aren't related.. If leeds don't house more away fans more fool them

Blackburn don't seem to have a problem having 6000+ Leeds fans visit their ground, can't really see why we should either, aside from the inconvenience of those of us that have to relocate to a different area of the ground.

In the scheme of life sitting in a different seat and watching a football game from a different angle is hardly an inconvenience

We're offered their full allocation and allowed to kick off at 3pm. I don't dispute that WYP also cause Leeds a massive pain, but they seem to suffer fewer restrictions at their hands than we do.

I was under the impression we were restricted to less than 1600 last time there, my point was if the same number of fans were at the John Smiths 3 '0' clock kick offs would probably be considered. PS To clear up any misunderstanding I have no problem with giving Leeds or any other club as many tickets as can be sold, just don't get how the club gets hammered for decisions taken beyond our control.

If my memory's correct, we took approx 2,500 when they beat us 5-1 and that was 3pm. I think last season's following may have had more to do with us playing them after a poor start to the season. I didn't mean to come across as hammering the club. However, some responsibility has to be taken. Whether or not we have our arm twisted behind our back, we agree to the restrictions WYP place on us. Negotiations with the police are tough, I wouldn't embrace the battle. However, we're a business turning over millions of pounds so it's reasonable to expect the CEO to have tough meetings from time to time.

Fair enough, perhaps I'm thinking back to papa Smurf days when I'm pretty certain he did restrict our support.

Sure I saw a tweet from the club earlier. Think it was 315. Even Brentford would bring more than that on a Tuesday night. Looks like there's only 315 that would want the south stand as a home end? The NSL should have continued the good work in the North stand. KBL

Why would we turn that chance down? 315 season card holders, and everyone of them will be going in with the intent to make a contribution to the atmosphere, plus there will be pay on the dayers, transfers, and take 10 holders.

Season ticket sales mean nothing at this stage.

Sold 349....add another 400 if last season is anything to go by with POD & SC transfers, although should be more based on those who said 1) not near enough away fans...2) acoustics no good....3) no cover for bad weather...with those 3 crossed off the list we could be pushing 1000+...but that's not taking in to account the next 3 new excuses....hold the press

I hope you have a change of mind and join us in the SS.

Always said its about quality not quantity of support. 300+ all singing, waving flags etc will be quality in the South Stand.

I'm sure I've lost the plot but how is the south stand going to work for the Blackburn game? Do we have it for games like this? When they could sell 2000+ what bout when we play teams that would sell the 3000 +? Blackburn have a poor away following despite how close they are to us. In a way I am not surprised only just over 300 chose to buy season cards in south stand. I gave it much thought. I've been in fml for years, before the NSL and I've decided to stay put. Seems a lot of extra money for the move and then to potentially have to move a few games and pay extra to move I just didn't fancy it. That's just my opinion on it though and wish those that move an enjoyable season. I'm just happy in FML and have been for years. Can't see that changing.

if bradford do it why cant we theyve reduced the price of their tickets by £50 for adults theyve already sold 15K. thats is all town need to do to get more fans and supporters the prices are way too high! Supporters over the age of 16 - adults, students and senior citizens - will pay only £149.00 - that is £50.00 cheaper than last season's adult season ticket price. That amazing price works out at an average of less than £6.50 a game for fans attending every match, significantly cheaper than any other club in the local area. Junior season tickets will remain at only £99.00. Read more at www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/tickets/season-tickets/index.aspx#RfYd2OhrpvzgZSs7.99

Think it was reported around £400k per year when they threatened to leave a couple of years back?
This link from 4 years ago suggests they paid more than we do...but I think they renegotiated terms (presumably they weren't 'set in stone' like ours?!)
