Well worth a listen if you have any interest in scouting.I wonder if he will have the budget at Town to do some of the things he was doing at Wolves-

If the Coady to Wolves rumours are true will he get the blame for that?

Has this bloke been doing his job properly, if we knew weeks ago that Butterfield would be going, plus the money from AS, surely a good CAM would have been on a list should things pan out the way they have?

We have an option to buy Paterson after the loan. He is Butterfields replacement I think just in a more attacking role

Paterson has nothing to do with Webber, so besides the point. Webber was involved in the deal... Or do you mean he wasn't involved because we first scouted him at Walsall?

Like Paterson? More of a wide player who can do a job in the hole behind the striker imo. Dempsey should be a better bet as Butterfields replacement, although Powell hasn't shown much faith in him thus far.. Hope he's given the chance to make that position his own.

Of course he would have been involved in the deal, who do people think deals with agents? Keeping tabs is one thing, getting him over the line is another.

You could argue where Wilson failed to bring in Paterson, Webber succeeded. By all accounts 3-4 other Championship clubs were trying to sign him on loan yesterday.

He is Butterfields replacement I think just in a more attacking role With this option to buy, I assume a figure has been already written into the contract, rather than both clubs having to come to a valuation once the loan ends? Can certainly see the pros/cons for both sides if a valuation has to be agreed dependant on the success of the loan!

Once the loan ends Paterson will be a free agent anyway, not sure how he has a value to Forest?

Again, this is an assumption - the option to buy clause is written into the loan agreement on the presumption that Paterson does well here, and we want to ensure he signs for us before becoming a free agent, as opposed to having to fight for his signature once his contract with Forest expires?

That makes sense, we get first option I get that, what do Forest get from us though? A nominal fee I hope.

When the loan ends he will be out of contract and over the age of 23, so would be free!! I think the reality of the situation is he's a Town player, but its easier to push a loan deal through (no need to get terms agreed etc with player as he'll just continue operating under his current contract)...we'll agree everything at our leisure over next few months and he'll become a permanent Town player in the JANUARY window, with Forest receiving a nominal fee at that time. Nobody else can buy him in January as its a season long loan so Town own his registration.

IF he performs nt.... if not let him return and sign A.N.Other on a similar principle. Almost like having him on an extended trial, good business if it works out, no harm done if it doesnt

Always thought Ross Wilson did a good job, we deffo miss him. From listening to TalkSport (very credible source for info) they were analysing Southampton's recruitment over the summer and said it hadn't been as effective as last year; sounds like young Ross is still to find his feet in the big boys league perhaps? Or, like what happened with us it will take him time to settle before people see the results.

So we've got an option to buy someone who is out of contract anyway ? Bet that took some hard negotiating !! Whoever brokered that ought to be going to the Middle East to sort the Palastinian / Israeli situation !!!

Webber should be trying to get a striker in surely now ? Maybe he has already found one You put your left leg in, your left leg out, in-out in-out, shake it all about. You do the Ameobi and you turn around, that's what it's all about! Ooohhh Shola Ameobi! Ooohhh Shola Ameobi! Ooohhh Shola Ameobi! Knees bend, arms stretch, goal goal, goal!
