Why do we seem to get so little of the action, I'm sure Walsall and Preston have these kind of games all the time. We're a much more accessible stadium via plane, train and car.
I vaguely remember we had a England B or something, Carl Cort played. And I think we had a "Football League Representative" side which Boothy possibly played in?
Any more? There seems to be a rugby international every other year if not more often.

Is it because they're not allowed to play on the hybrid grass of the JSS? I know there's all sorts of rules we might not be aware of.

They'd only knacker the pitch and Town would see none of the profit.
Walsall is plenty good enough for him.

Might also have something to do with the last time we hosted a U21 match (v Sweden) back in either the late 90s or early 00s and only around 5k people turned up so they decided we weren't interested enough in the younger England teams.

Had one before and an English League vs Italian League or some such like and the attendance was pathetic hence no more games. Believe Lee Makel was picked as the 'local' player to boost attendance. 'Twas ever thus ...

The word 'profit', however, might be a bone of contention since, given previous attendances at such prestigious matches haven't been inspiring, there wouldn't be a lot left over after deducting wages for stewards et alia, floodlighting fees, etc. (see this Wednesday's game for the same issue!)

Remember the Football league against I think it was the Italian football league. Lee Makel was playing just after he signed for us but I don't think he'd actually played for us at that point, he ran the game spraying balls out to Martin Smith and Michael Gray out wide. Could've been a real player had all the talent just rarely looked interested.
The under 21's I particularly remember watching Carl Cort and even though he scored twice he looked utter shite, didn't Newcastle pay something ridiculous like £5m-£7m for him?!

It was a ridiculous £7 million fee. It must have been one of Sir Bobby's worst signings, sold to Wolves for £2 million two years later!

Got the England team but can't find Sweden's - England: Richard Wright, Kieron Dyer, P.Robinson, Wes Brown, Danny Mills, Seth Johnson, Frank Lampard, Jamie Carragher, C.Cort, R.Cresswell (J.Greening), C.Woodhouse (J.Curtis). Over 13,000 there so it wasn't a terrible attendance but not great.

Seth Johnson Seth Johnson went into the boardroom to discuss his contract, him and his agent went in saying "Ask for £20,000, settle for £15,000." So they went in, and they were offered £25,000. "WHAT?" Seth Johnson replied, obviously shocked at how good the deal is. Then Ridsdale replied, "OK then, £35,000" thinking Johnson was unhappy at the terms.
