Excited about this. Not given a chance by current forest regime. A couple of seasons ago he played just behind the striker and scored 2 against us. I'm saying he'll be playing as an attacking midfielder.

Where are the 3 or 4 quality signings we were told to wait for yesterday ? Go on say it... We always have the loan market. How do we reinvest the smithies and Butterfield in the loan market ? Jesus Christ. We've used most of it on Huws, Carayol and Paterson? Is the max allowed 3 or 4?

Bollocks!! "We needed to sell Smithies to strengthen the team" 3 loan signings later- 2 wingers and a cm and that's your lot. Worst transfer window I can remember as a town fan. When we are relegated in the summer I look forward to you blaming the fans for it. Paterson can play attacking midfield, number 10 or wing. And, as much as it annoys most on here, the loan window does soon open.

Bit like Jimmy Lawson then.

Fuck the loan window. Why on earth do we need to fill our team with loans? 9 million in this summer!!!!!! We have only loans to show for it!!! Is this a new tact by the board???

I can see crowds getting lower & lower which will not help.

It's another player who has played well against us in the past #junior Mendes lol I can not see how a loan deal would benefit us on this one, we help sort his head out, change of scenery and all that, he finally kicks on and Forest sell for a larger sum than they would have ordinarily got. We are crying out for a clinical finisher, I just don't get it! I hate to say it, but L**ds did a good bit of business with Wood. He's out of contract next summer.

Think Powell could have been worded this a bit better!
"Jamie is a very different to what we have in our group. He has a goal threat"

Another winger to sit on the bench unless Scannell gets injured. 5 wingers in the squad and we play with one, we needed anything but another winger. Unless the thinking now that Butterfield has gone is to move to using 2 wingers. Even so, this one is pretty baffling. Scannell, Bunn, Lolley, Carayol, Paterson.... not to mention Jake Charles having his pathway blocked (Have we abandoned pathways now?) for 2 first team spaces. Option to buy at the end of the season? OK that makes a little bit more sense than loaning a player in a position we don't need but at the end of the season we'll have Hiwula back. Unless we get shut of another winger or 2 I can't see the sense in this at all. Meanwhile we've sold 3 of our best players & look like we're saying goodbye to another (albeit injury prone) in Vaughan. Replacing them with a winger, the one area where we are pretty strong already is a bit of a headscratcher.

Glad we managed to get a deal over the line but a very poor days business overall! We employ someone full time to scout out players we should be signing but instead bring in afew loans & some kids to replace 3 multi million pound departures & spend £300k all window? I understand the club needs to balance the books but our championship survival is at stake here! Very naive thinking this current squad will keep us up, no chance imo!

Im dreaming about all this, in a min Im going to wake up and instead of signing a 5th winger, we will have actually signed 4 players from any other position, other than wing

We already had the personnel at the club to play 2 wingers, so if we were wanting to play that way we could have done. We have needed strengthening in nearly every other area but in my opinion we haven't improved the squad, we've weakened it. Selling Smithies, Coady and Butterfield in one window was too much, especially when we haven't gone out of our way to replace them permanently. I fully understand we have to sell players but selling 3 of our better ones and not replacing them is worrying.

Now,,,, does that seem better?

He isn't a pure winger at all, but our signings still don't add-up, as much as I expect Huws will be the 'Butterfield replacement'.

Gonna start playing with 4 wingers in the faint hope that one of the feckers can actually produce an assist.

So what's wrong with having four wingers for two places? I thought that was the ideal, competition for places and all that? Am I missing something...

Plus Lolley, Bunn and Paterson can all play in different positions, not just the wing. I think we are a top striker short of being absolutely fine. Re-enter Vaughan?
