It still would be no from me. Working patterns don't allow for me to attend many games. And if I do. I usually go to away games. A £179 season ticket divided by 23 games means if you attend all home matches each game is costing you £7.78. Even if you only go to 10 games you'll be saving on the assumed £20+ matchday price. That is of course not including travel costs for those that live further away.

I had a season ticket from 1977 until 2012 and have seen Town at over 100 grounds from Highbury to Bridlington. I became disillusioned by the lack of atmosphere and the dull football. My last game was boxing day 4 years ago against chesterfield - we won 1-0 and despite having a season ticket for the season I left that day knowing I wouldn't be back. I cancelled my blue and white foundation membership I held from its inception and interestingly I have never had any contact from the club. As time goes by you find other things to do and Town become less relevant. Sorry but a long way of saying that no matter what the price I wont be buying. Out of interest, why did you become disillusioned with Town?

I'll be buying one, I may live up in Dunblane but the club is doing right by the fans and it'll give me more of an incentive to come back home more often if I've got a season ticket. Good forward thinking by town which I know will pay off for many years to come. It's about time football clubs started passing on the increase in TV deals to the fans.

Don't want to go? Great, but why come on here to tell us? Reading his previous posts, I'm not convinced his is the type of support we need anyway.

Sorry to offend the self righteous on here- that's why I read but don't tend to post. I was answering the original question as a non season ticket holder. The bottom line for me is that the club has become increasingly dull. For many years we were shit but our expectations were managed! Town have been a massive part of my life. Judging by the last post fans should be vetted and I'm not the type of fan the club want anyhow- so be it.

Reading his previous posts, I'm not convinced his is the type of support we need anyway. I totally disagree, we need as many paying customers as possible through the gates, we need to know how we could entice more fans back to watch Town. Obviously this guy was a big fan years back who spent a fair bit of money watching HTFC . I think its just as important to find out the reasons what stop ex fans attending and what we as a club could do better.

To be honest I'm surprised attendances haven't spiked since the Wagner revolution (which admittedly is still very much a work in progress). I've been telling all the lapsed supporters I know that if you go to a game now you've a pretty good chance of being entertained regardless of the result. We're still not winning enough but it must be pretty boring for all those glory-hunters (presumably they'll all be buying Leicester shirts at JJB this summer) who can't take a defeat. I want us to win every game but that's not a realistic expectation for a Town fan. Being a fan of a club like ours requires patience and a thick skin, but the way we've progressed in such a short time shows that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Not a season ticket holder cos I can't go enough. But will be buying one this time. Partly cos they will be cheaper and partly because I like what I've seen recently. I now find myself working out how many games I can get to rather than just going if nothing else on

No reason why we cant sell more than Sadford did this season, even if we aren't just giving ours away. We are a better supported club.

Although this obviously won't happen if we cap them at 10,000.

Unless that actually came from Dean himself at the Patrons - they I would question its integrity and is possible someone scaremongering because thats certainly not my understanding of things....

Only thing I can think of is to try & create a rush to buy them so people won't want to miss out, thus getting money in to the club earlier? But, like you say it does kind of defeat the object if there's a cap of 10 thousand. Utt.

I would love to buy a season ticket but the cost of the ticket is not the problem I face. I am hoping to be back in the UK in the next year or two for a visit and plan to attend a game.
I am glad the club had listened to fans though. Need to get more bums on seats.

Don't worry about the 10k cap, it's clearly a way to extend the PR story for those who need a bit of reassurance that they're joining a winning movement.
Expect a headline of "Huddersfield extend the offer due to overwhelming popularity" in the examiner and Yorkshire post. There's an amazing amount of people that rely on the actions of others to make up their own mind. Hence why 'price inelasticity' can backfire when everyone around you complains that the prices are too high.

I am glad the club had listened to fans though. Need to get more bums on seats. For fans like yourself that are abroad it's always a challenge because a season card isn't viable. But the club still need to be engaging with expat fans and make sure they don't rip off fans who can only make two or games a season. Bottom line is, you're still a fan. My uncle lives in Holland and he came over when we played Derby.... £35 on the day. First time in 40 years supporting town he genuinely felt ripped off. He paid it because he'd travelled far and obviously wanted to see town. But it leaves a sour taste. Sensible prices and a bit of good PR from the club will go a long way to keeping fans near by and far out (like yoursen) engaged with the club.

Once we'd sold our allocation everyone who didn't have a ticket decided they wanted to go, as everybody else was off.

A 100% yes from me. The only reason i don't have one at the moment as was working 2 in 4 weekends, however with my new job/promotion (no weekends) i was going to be getting a season ticket again regardless, the cheap price is just a nice brucey bonus.
