Not at all.... reg posh is a nonsense More the type of person that would buy the best model of that line of car the manufacturer makes, then modify with further improvements like custom made long life exhaust, headlight upgrade, long life plugs and performance air filter. use the best oil and service regular That's alright if your salary (ie gate attendance) will facilitate that. Let me ask you a question , and i ask it in the spirit of having a learned debate not point scoring and all that. Is the model of self sustainability working for us? Revenue streams outside of selling our best players have not dramatically increased to levels where absorbing player sales are not required have they? How long do we give it? How do we get the crowds to levels that will allow self sustainability... do we do that by a team that gets results or just plays well or both? How do you get a team to really gel play for each other if every saleable assett is sold time and time again? Or wouldnt the sensible approach see a reasonable percentage of profit gained spent on proper signings where needed, not loans which is what i have said for ages and guess vwhat Wagner agrees with me on. I believe our current approach all be it with more exciting football , sees us stuck in a rut. Its a chicken and egg situation where we are trying to square the circle. The idiots who call for me to go support qpr or some other high rollers are bang off the mark. I am not and never will advocate we chuck money at it left right and ctre and especially money we dont have, but at the same time i would expect and feel truly dissapointed that the club i have watched for 37 years can fumble their way from one season to the next without addressing what seems like the ever constant issues at striker and ctre back, especially since the club has raised many millions season after season.

Right now i am waiting for Pipes to ask me if i dont change my car every time a new reg comes out why should we buy in every window? One step ahead of you there old man... I change my car if it lets me down consistently or if the garage bill outweighs the return. Unlike Town who persist with their poorer players who let them down

Terrierpark .. "ferile" isn't a word .. you feral old man Actually it is. It is used to describe someone or something who/that is both feral and virile. Although I agree TP has not used it in that constant and probably meant feral. If you read it back you will find that actually since i was referring to the family unit, fertility and breeding ,i would thefore think it reasonable to suggest that their verility can be applied in this case, therby making the grammar and context correct

Can only assume these targets have agreed to sign in the summer.I also assume they've agreed to not get injured, change their minds when a better offer comes in or sign a new improved contract at present club, which if we really want them will cost a lot more. The best bit is since our targets are officially unknown, any future signings that we might make might not have been our targets and we will never know if we got them or not. I suppose however if we apply the htfc free transfer only rule and they do arrive on a free there will be a reasonable chance they could be.

I wish I had the foresight and wisdom of terrierpark, I'd have lumped my life savings on Town getting relegated this season. We've ALL been deceived, apart from terrierpark, because he knows better. Ain't life a bitch? I very rarely bet on the outcome of a season, in fact in the summer months i always look forward to the start of the next one hoping that we might give ourselves a chance and start the season the right way.. Still waiting like .....

Loads a money, no money, premier league, League 2, Dean Hoyle, Sheikh Whoever. The hardcore support will still be there. No point moaning, disagreeing with polices & tactics. I'm going no matter who the fucking players are. You can put 11 fit birds on the field for me..... OK a fat one in goal. And guess what i was that man once too.

It's clear that we could do with signings, and that everyone is disappointed that we haven't made them in January. No one could argue that we're lacking in options up front, at left back and potentially at centre back as well. We also look like we could struggle this season should fate not smile upon us. Not sure anyone is particularly to blame for any of the above. We only have a set amount of funds and there are only a finite number of available players.
Loads of clubs' fans are bemoaning the same points following their transfer window activity - Leeds and Sheffield United to name two of our local friends.
Hopefully we can stay clear of the relegation zone, improve our fitness and understanding and crack on next season before which hopefully we'll be able to strengthen the squad significantly.[/b] Well it isnt the fans fault is it and if we are so much better run than our neighbours you would expect us to do better in the transfer market. I agree totally with your closing paragraph we will have to, its just that for me with the money we have raised should we really be relying on hope ?

I would like to set the record straight. I DONT DISAGREE WITH EVERYTHING THE CLUB DOES OK! 1. It was right that Robins was sacked 2. I was behind Powell when he was appointed, the guy was and remains a gent but i would have liked to see him backed a bit more from DH, BUT i agree that the oppurtunity to bring Wagner in could not be ignored. 3. I believe in DW from what i have seen, but i have also seen players struggle to play his way from the back which has cost us and struggle to finish off chances at the other end, which leads me to point 4 4. I DO NOT AGREE with the clubs transfer policy and record which does not address squad building and attending to the here and now. Its focus remains on cheap options and players to sell on asap to continue a cycle that sees us trapped. You might not like how i raise my points but at least argue them out. There is such a thing as yin and yan the alternate viewpoint. I recognise that many fans are perfctly happy , increasingly so since DW was apointed but for me the red flags of a a club that just will not invest in team building remain. The mick Buxton era was mentioned with the superb team that played for each other, it was the team that made me a fan. But we kept that team together for as long as we possibly could didnt we? And i have made this point before when it comes to strikers we always but always replaced the good striker we sold with another one who proved to be equally good. Tempest,Shearer ,Maskell, Roberts etc etc Do you see what i am getting at. Firstly, a nice post TP. With regards to the bit in bold. If you look at recent history I don't really see which of the players that were sold on should have been retained, Rhodes - Crazy money, replaced by Nakhi (who we have apparently turned down interest on), Clayton - Good money replaced by Butterfield, Butterfield - Good money player wanted to leave, Coady - same as Butterfield, Smithies - Good money, replaced short term by Steer. Most of these players would have been impossible to keep without massively breaking the wage structure (even that wouldn't have kept them as they saw us as a stepping stone). D.W is hopefully now trying to recruit players who buy into HTFC the vision, not just seeing us a some stepping stone club, but it's going to take time. Just give him and the board that. If we get to the end of the season and we are relegated and have egg on our faces then you will be well within your rights to say "I told you so", however at the moment DW clearly thinks that he has enough at his disposal to get us to safety (as do I) and I trust his judgement far more than anyones on here. Time will tell. So firstly thank you for not been abusive or demonstarting your ferile ubringing like so many on here. You make some good points summarised/concluding with give it time, and normally that would be fair enough but the need for a stronger defence has been with us since we wouldnt pay 1 million for sean morrison and the need for another striker competent at this level is not new we have mucked about with it for ages. I would have no qualms at all if the money raised from our player sales had in part and i stress part gone towards a ctre back and a striker . I think we could have got those in at less than half of the money raised.

The OP is expressing an opinion about the club's recent transfer dealings. I don't share the opinion, or think it's a well chosen subject line, but what's all this jumping on the bandwagon of personal abuse? First few responses - fair enough; after that it's just bullying in the school playground. It's an outpouring of everyone being sick to death of the OPs continued bile, attacks on the club to this guy and others have been far FAR too common place on this board, it's been coming for a while this is not school playground stuff this is sticking behind the club against a small number of so called fans decrying everything that they do. Personal abuse isn't necessarily right but I this case I reckon some of the more passionate supporters rightly get a free pass cos they have had to read his tripe for far too long. I would like to set the record straight. I DONT DISAGREE WITH EVERYTHING THE CLUB DOES OK! 1. It was right that Robins was sacked 2. I think it goes like this...."we're interested in x player, he's out of contract in the summer, so we'll offer you £x now for him...." Club replies, no we want £4x for him.. okay, stuff that then, we'll wait 'til summer when we can get him for nowt. I think that's a good way of doing business tbh, we're not desperate are we, and we don't have limitless amounts of money. But in doing that we've exposed ourselves to additional competition. Competition who probably don't take FFP as seriously as us and will offer these targets better wages than we do. Thank you thats one point of many i made in my post ignored by the majority... Everyone is happy to slag me off but few will generally debate the points i make if its not to their liking or the clubs stance.

You have all been conned and you can't see it. We had a war chest to buy players to strengthen this window for the season ahead. We didnt spend any of it because the players we targetted would have commanded fees!!! or what was it the clubs didnt want to sell them! Unbelievable news that a club didnt want to let a good player go. Didnt the news of our interest unsettle the player didnt they bring their dad to chairman office demanding the move? If not why not? Didnt we know that fees would be involved when we made them our target? Did it come as a surprise? By defintion they were a target because they were what we needed, what we wanted but lets put that on the back burner because we can have them for nothing in the summer, nevermind the fans they can still watch the crap defence snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, watch us create ten chances and only take one and think ourselves unlucky to lose. This season has been written off AGAIN and how manys that now ? So the whole point of selling our best players at the first sniff of any interest is not to fortify the team at all is it. The proof is there in black and white. Chuck in the old chestnut of "as soon as they showed interest the player wanted to leave" the thick fans will buy it again, even when its been proven to be not always the case. And the best part is yet to come these free transfers if quality can command a bigger wage and guess what we wont see that coming either as we lose out to another powerhouse of the division like Bristol or Brentford with their imaginary parachute payments ,who we cant compete with when in reality we wont even try to if it means spending. I was genuinely excited by what Wagner was doing with our motley crew but fear not any modicum of success and he will be off too and whats betting he wont have any problems whatsoever in aquiring his targets then. I bet CP is pissing himself and i dont blame him.
As for me i knew this would happen its what i have been telling you all, i have come to expect nothing less it doesnt even bother me now and that is DH's problem despite all the rhetoric around crowds and support he continues to follow practice that only increasingly will lose him more supporters. Perhaps he's glad of the dwindling support it justifies the next sale doesnt it? Now who'd have thought it eh?

DAVID WAGNER Go figure Nothing to figure old man ..same players will make the same mistakes time and time and time again. Wells will still miss chances every game others would bury costing us points, lynch will still give away free kicks on the edge of the box and cost us, smith will still fail to cut out the cross and davidson , why did we have that cull of deadwood to set on a full time boomerang whitler becuase he isnt a bloody footballer.

Have said it before and i will say it again we were stronger our first year in this division than we are now in our what is it fourth season? It was a remarkably difficult season when normally the points amassed would have seen us safe well ahead of the close of season but have you all stopped seeing things with your own eyes in favour of just believing the written word ? Do you truly believe the vaughan and Beckford combo was worse than wells and miller or wells alone .....agh but we have progressed Do you believe clayton and norwood were worse than hogg and huws .. they must be we have progressed. I bet DH wishes it was 1939 he could introduce rationing and coupons dig for victory! Or maybe grow your own striker .... because that works doesnt it? Last one john Stead about what 15 or more years ago?

I think most Town fans are generally dissapointed they constantly live in hope that one day we will get it right on and off the field. We coined the phrase we only do things the hard way to cement the feeling that despite all the crap we endure we will prevail eventuallyBut we are not been helped to keep the faith to believe with an approach that lets us watch players that should have been moved on pick themselves and players that should be signed ignored. We tread water. Wagner needs better players to play his way especially at the back without them expect the year on year progress to be measured very soon in league 1 Thank you for taking the time to answer my genuine question. My twopenneth with a half-full glass is: Personally I'm a lot less disaappointed in this league than the years of almost scraping promotion from Division 1, apart from the year and a bit we actually went for it before Lee Clark changed his footballing ethos. I think last January and close season we shipped out a lot of deadwood, we have very few first team players that don't deserve to be on the pitch regularly. I'd say Davidson is at best a back-up, as is Miller. Smith, who is a lot of people's scapegoat, has improved dramatically under Wagner, same for Lolley, Bunn and Wells. Players that should have been signed ignored? I'm not sure I can comment on that, but, who should we be signing? Huws? Paterson? I'd like us to sign both of them, but only if they are affordable in both transfer fee and wages. I'd rather let them go than bankrupt our club. We've made progress year on year, at times it's been very slow progress, a position and maybe on less points, however, it is still in the right direction. The football under Wagner is in the majority the best I have ever seen from Town since I started watching in 69/70. I genuinely believe the team is on the verge of clicking and surprising a lot in football. I admit that over the next 6 months we need to add to the squad and cover some of the sparse area's, I have no doubt the club are looking to do that, but, it has to be in accordance with what we can afford. Until it is mathematically impossible we could go down, I think it would take a seismic shift in ethos at the club for that to happen, or losing 4 or 5 key players to injury. Wagner has improved us no doubt but the way he likes to play out from the back is at times suicidal with the players we have. hogg cost us the other week, davidson pass to bunn when he was already marked up on sat. When we need to just clear the ball from danger ie row z we dont and with our defence we invite danger. Add to that we need to score at least twice sometimes 3 a game to win because of the defence then you have to look at chances and goals. Yes going forward we have exciting play but only for 10 mins after the break on sat we were not at it by wagners standard and the same at brighton. Can he sustain the eralier exciting football or was sat a blip maybe. However given the bad luck and refeering decisions nearly every game its a real battle to actually win a game against a half decent side and we still have alot of the top teams to play. Lets hope Elvis and co really do know where the onion bag is.

[ You think we've made a loss this season? With the predicted loss and transfer activity, I'd say Dean Hoyle stopped financing the club some time ago and we're trading in the black. Not a popular view, but one that's staring fans in the face. Some are too blinkered to see past the hero . We came into this window needing the same as we did in August, a striker and a centre back, we look like leaving this window needing 2 strikers and a centre back. In the summer the loans of Patterson, Huws, Steer and Manu will have passed. If we're still in this division and Wells manages to stay fit, we're going to need some serious squad rebuilding. Conveniently ignoring the £37m loss before this season. Maybe you would prefer him to pull the plug like Davies has at Bolton or Rubery did for us not so long ago. I thought he already had you mean to say dean the fan is actually still running the show? wow

Year on year on year on year on year on year improvement to our league position is what some call progression, when you consider we have lost money every season that DH has been in charge of us. And you have the temerity to call him a lying Rigsby - Damned well ungrateful is what I would call you! year on year progression.... v year on year team defficiencies no team progression no managerial continuity no academy progression no crowd progression lost money every season...... v sold every good player that we could have used to BUILD a team Damn right i am grateful to the multi millionaire who has delivered a team that has no championship standard goalie, left back, right back . ctre half or two, ctre mid and adequate strike partner or alternative for nahki. Well well looks like old Rigsby has shafted the fans yet again! We have been lied to simple as that...targets not available my arse. All players are available at the right price. We simply dont want to spend any money other than pay some other teams second raters a wage. Carayol stats show he had a great record in the limited appearances he made with goals and assists but we send him back with the lie we have loads of wingers then sign two more on loan but described as forwards. That was what matmour was described as a forward lol. Shafted again from one window to the next. When i read Wagners words of wisdom " we only want to sign players who will be good for us for the long term" it made me laugh out loud! As opposed to what exactly? signing a lad who would be good for this saturday only? Every single bloody player who would have been good for us for the long term has been SOLD. There has been no team building whatsoever just papering over the cracks with loans and letting the same inadequate players pick themselves at ctre back and striker and make the same mistakes over and over again. We might have a better manager but he is working already with one hand tied behind his back with only one championship standard striker on the books and a defence as airtight as a cullinder. Has Hoyle stopped been a fan now i can only summise that if he truly watched the matches as a fan he would be doing something about the defence and getting a prolific striker. Wasnt that clearout of deadwood at the end of last season supposed to pave the way for quality When exactly? I am absolutely hacked off with the perpetual inertia of whats exactly required at this club, its nothing more than taking the piss. Just like too many on here, you quantify a 'successful' transfer based on the value of the transaction in pounds & pence... It's a good job there's such things as good talent spotting, good coaching, not being held to ransom etc... Every player at Town will at some point get traded as I can't recall a 'lifer' at Town. It's called modern day football when the demands of those taking OUT of the game seem to hold sway over those trying to develop the game longer term & without that development being bankrolled as a plaything... Finally if you think it's taking the piss, why not take an objective view, ask an honest opinion from fans of other clubs if they'd prefer to be in our position with a great coach, great training facilities, balancing the books within FFP etc... If you're still not happy then there are hundreds more clubs around the country that can provide some form of semi instant gratification for you... Actually i dont. I dont care if he was a 100k or a million so long as we got WHAT WAS REQUIRED I am sure the great training facilities are lovely but they didnt help us get three points on saturday did they. If this approach is the right way why are we so low down the table? Let me spell it out for you we dont take our chances and conceed too many goals. That can be fixed but its been ignored.

When Carayol went back, we were told we had an abundance of players who could play in that position. We do have Lolley, Bunn, Scannel, Patterson, Dempsey and the 2 new players. More wingers should be way down the list of targets. We only have one first team striker on the books. The other two have gone. Chris Hughton says Manu is a striker..... Well well looks like old Rigsby has shafted the fans yet again! We have been lied to simple as that...targets not available my arse. All players are available at the right price. This is my last post until the transfer window closes.
We actually need a squad that contains 3 strikers that can all be relied on in the first 11. Currently we have 1 just about, but i will be happy if we bring 1 championship standard/quality proven striker in otherwise it isnt worth bothering. Wagner might improve Miller over time who knows and we have jordi who might feature next season or bojaj so 1 will do, but he has to have a good scoring record. We need 2 ctre backs that can be relied upon better than what we have. Yes Hudson has improved but i wouldnt keep him another season and Lynch well he might be the best of what we have but he wouldnt start in most champuionship teams in the current top ten. Yes all of this costs money but pardon me isnt that why we sell our best players for? Yes some of it has to go on keeping us going but some of it has to go on signing replacements and investing in the squad. When we then sign players that we dont curently need , either the club doesnt give a shit or they are covering for future sales. Why Matmoor? he's not a striker , is Scanell leaving this window? That will be another player sold for millions replaced by a freebie and thats fine if some of the money is spent on what we need right now which has not been happening!

I sometimes question the mentality of some of our fans, HTFC are a superbly run club, there are many that aren't though. Some of the absolute shite posted by you and your cronies is beyond comprehension to any normal, considered and rational person. Before you type your bilge remember (if you are old enough) how this club was run before Hoyle and take a look around at the likes of Blackpool, Bolton and Pompy. I don't blame Hoyle at all. Most of the strikers I have mentioned cost good money but for whatever reason we seem to mess about when it comes to signing strikers. We don't produce good ones in the academy, we very rarely have 2 good strikers fit at the same time and we seem to try and get by from window to the next. That's not Hoyles fault. We are able to add midfielders and defenders at will and proactively but we just fail to do this up front. YES IT MUST BE THE MANAGERS FAULT...MOST MANAGERS LOVE HAVING NO STRIKERS.... its that stupid book of ross wilson's thats said dont buy strikers they are far and above the worse value for money...
