Wasn't your real name Tom then?
i think anyone from hecky (and later Howden Clough), would know Tom. At Least in the days of the chilly buses/awaydays.
What was your daughter called? something like Hayley Tiffany Francis Claire wasn't it?

hi tom, yeah still around. not much call for pools collecting around here. should try really, raise a few extra dinars. will be home for most of february and hopefully manage to get to a few games. Howden clough ain't improved too much, when i was home in the summer some girl overdosed in one of the flats on the estate. also no pub now as white horse shut down.

Howden Clough was never the best place (too many yiddys) but it served a purpose for me Bob. This bellend road game is making me itchy like it used to do....ahh the days of the chilly bus eh? Aldershot bowler hats....Charlton coin throwers....kindons hat trick at Exeter.....bananas at Carlisle and calling at cockermouth on the way home.....over 100 on the chilly double decker to bellend road........Newport County (Aldridges hat trick against us).......That own goal at Hereford (was it Hanvey or Baines?)....happy happy days mate........those saturdays were like heaven and are never to be forgotten......you have any memories? ?

my main chilly memories are of the transit vans. going to swindon leaving friday night from the commercial in hecky. Not the best way to travel when you lot have been drinking all night. Saki and eddy could make the back of those vans a very windy place. Though i think my first experience of chilly travel was a group ticket to wimbledon on the train. were you there that day. Some nasty git pulling a knife and ossy managing to disarm him. Think his army training came in handy. I didn't go on a lot of the early chilly buses (too young). but some of the later trips were good fun. my last chilly bus was to darlington in 1992 , few days before i was exported here.

Remember Wimbledon well Bob...Ossie took that knife as sweet as a nut didnt he (Bloody Cockneys eh?) Lost the game though. Was with you at Darlington too......used to love that ground with the hockey field to walk past. Now Swindon....that was a corker....didnt we get there a bit late due to overstaying our welcome in the pubs down in the carrot crunchers back yard (I actually live down that way now) I think one of the Blanchards was driving that day....we lost that one too!!!!!!

I too used to go on Chilly Travel. I'm not bad with faces but rubbish with names. I seem to remember a 'Tom' and a guy called Leicester Pete.

Was the trip to Newport the one that stopped at Stafford on the way back & there was a slight altercation with some Wolves fans that led to the local Police inviting us for a late supper back at their place?

Jimmy, if taking a leak whilst sitting down is worthy of a "great days" comment, you're going to love it at around 85 years old...

there was the time that john earnshaw fell off the hecky bus at darlo and broke his arm. I was on the national coach that day so not on the same coach (think i was too young for the hecky bus at that point). might have been the same day that foggy got thumped whilst taking a leak in the ground

I was there that day. I'm sure it was the same day as the dog incident. I don't think I ever went into Darlo town center on other occasions.

think russ is right, 1st or 2nd round of facup. pretty sure it was the cup game when john earnshaw fell off the bus and there was definitely a red lion/commercial coach there that day. i was probably only 14-15 myself, hence being on the national coach from birstall.

I remember winning 3-0 after scoring all 3 in first half. Think that was a league match tho.
