Well not a day passes by now, where Town are linked with every available player from Germany, Tammo Harder, Max Grün et al.
So I thought it would be useful if we, as supporters embraced the Wagner Revolution (Wagner Umwälzung) and readied ourselves for the influx of German players by learning a few key football words and phrases:
Fußball spielen = Play football
Fußball mannschaft = Football Team
Stürmer = Striker
Verteidiger = Defender
Mittelfeldspieler – Midfielder
Tor = Goal
Ecke = Corner
Einwerfen = Throw in
Elfmeter = Penalty
Freistoß = Free Kick
Rote Karte = Red Card
Gelbe Karte = Teltow card
Aus Aus Aus = Off Off Off
Schiedstrichter or Kampfrichter = Referee
Linienrichter = Linesman (for the politically correct the term used is Schiedsrichter Assistant – Referees Assistant)
Foul = Foul
Abseits = Offside
Abstoß = Goal Kick
Handball = Handball
Halbzeit = Half Time
Vollzeit = Full Time
Zehn meter = 10 yards
Gewinnen = Win
Mauer = Wall
Willkommen = Welcome
Die Deutschen kommen = The Germans are coming
Ich bin Englander = I am English
Of course I love it when a German pronounces the word Video as WIDEO.
I am hoping SODEXO might start selling Bratwurst

Just to make things slightly easier, the most common German word for 'Revolution' is in fact 'Revolution' (pronounced Re-voh-loot-see-ohn). Also a throw-in is 'der Einwurf' (einwurfen is the verb).
A few additions as well:
Heimsieg = Home win Auswärtssieg = Away win Unentschieden = Draw Verlieren = To lose Führen: To lead Kopfball: Header Kader: Squad Aufstellung: Line-up Wechsel: Substitution Nachspielzeit: Added time Was für ein Tor! = What a goal! Der Schiedsrichter ist ein Wichser! = The referee's a wanker! Verpiss dich zurück nach Bradford, Wells! = Fuck off/Piss off back to Bradford, Wells! (This would come in handy for the chap in the DG Lower just to the left of the press box who berates Wells every time he misses).

'you cheating bast-rd' would not go amiss..in various languages.. best be multi lingual on that one

If you over-hit a corner, would that be known as an 'Ecke Thump'? I did not know you were bilingual? When I was serving in Germany when referring to Box Heads it was Vier Ecken Kopf (4 Cornered Head).

Only managed to fit one rhyme into this, not sure it'd really catch on...

Really getting a grip on this German now. New word of the day for me is "handball", though I had to repeat it several times before it sunk in.

So, if the squad included Merson, Thomo, Le Tiss and Charlie Nicholas it would be a "JeffStelling"
