I said last year he's the best player I've ever seen in a town shirt. What he has done this season thus far only cements those thoughts. Outstanding. Schindler is probably the best defender I've seen at town too. He has certainly started pressing Stewart and Worthington in my mind.

I loved gorre but I wonder if he would be held as highly were he english (rather than an exotic dutch player in a time when foreign players werent as prevalent)
Be mooy for me any day of the week

Mooy is the best ever type of player I've ever seen play for Town, Did some lovely things yesterday. Absolute bargain.

He has certainly started pressing Stewart and Worthington in my mind. Worthington?? Come on!! Stewart maybe and the only other one close for me Dean Gorre I don't think Gorre was anywhere near as good/influential as many of us remember him. He was lucky that he joined a very good team at a good time and was able to express himself within it. He admittedly looked a real talent for half a season or so but actually scored few, made few match winning performances and achieved nothing with us. He also went on to do nothing at all remarkable in his career. It's a weird position we're in now we're getting the success we've yearned for , for so long to be able to look back at 'legends' like Gorre and reassess their actual impact. I and others held him in such high esteem for so long, but the reality is the entire promtion team to a man played at least as well as him and all chieved more than he did in his time with us. We're making new legends week by week at the moment.

Worthington?? Come on!! Stewart maybe and the only other one close for me Dean Gorre I re-evaluated Gorres qualities a while back, he was nowhere near as good/influential as many of us remember him. I was thinking the other day (might have been done already) but it would be interesting to compare a 'best ever players' poll from last year to this year

Stewart maybe and the only other one close for me Dean Gorre It was Worthington 1st and Stewart 2nd by the way. Must admit I'd almost inexcusably forgotten Ray Wilson. Don't think Gorre would get into the present team. Worthington, Stewart and Wilson would be first on the list. Surfeit of fullbacks I admit but Derek Parkin and Bob McNab would be regulars.

I automatically thought you were on about Jon as I'd never seen Frank play. Before my time. Apologies. Mooy is the best I've seen in a town shirt,Stewart, Gorre, Schindler, Marsden all in the mix for second spot.

Not playing for Socceroos tonight. Ruled out due to illness. Good news (not the illness, obviously) Not sure how you work that out. They could go a long way to confirming their place in these two games; if they fail to get an automatic place they go into the play-offs which means more competitive games and traveling. Also reduces the chances of us being able to watch a Town player at the World Cup.

It would be nice, but as long as we don't get humped we're in the box seat. If we lose, we're level on points with Saudi Arabia. They're playing Japan and we're playing Thailand. I'd fancy us to get a better result than them (GD could potentially be an issue). And as I type this, Japan go 1-0 up

Just an instant reaction to Mooy not being "at risk" in a game I don't care about (couldn't give a toss about Town players at the World Cup either).

Aussies lose 2-0. 1 game to go. If Saudi Arabia don't get any points against Japan, then a draw for Australia against Thailand (at home) will be enough. If the Saudi's win then we need to better their result by 2 goals. Japan have already qualified so surely won't send their best team to Jeddah.
Its a fair assumption we'll probably beat Thailand, just how much by is the big question.
Australia qualifying at this stage is really better for Town, as otherwise there'll be more travel for Mooy - to as far flung places like Uzbekistan, Panama or Honduras etc.

Two against possibly Uzbekistan and, if you win that tie, two against Panama, Honduras of even USA.

Uzbekistan looks likely, although possibly Korea Republic (which would be a nightmare) or Syria. Then USA (hopefully not), Panama or Honduras Really though, just putting 5 past Thailand in Perth is our best shot!

That was shite by Australia. Not starting with a recognised striker was stupid stupid stupid. We won't put one past Thailand playing like that.

Mooy back and starting against Thailand, 6 changes to the team that played Japan.
Aussies should win convincingly enough but will need to wait for result of Saudi Arabia and Japan later to find out whether they've qualified automatically or need to go through the playoff route.

Hope you qualify today, two (possibly four) more games around the globe for Mooy is not good for us.
