I have just been given weeks to live by my doctors because of very rare and very aggressive form of leukaemia. I'll not be posting anymore.
"Owd Jim's -Blast from the Past" will die with me but since the Admins stopped putting it up on the site last season and no one has made any comments that will not be missed.

Hard to know what to say to a post like that
You've conributed a lot to the forum over the years and will be missed by many.
Hopefully Town can do you proud this season!

Bloody hell David that's awful to read. I've always enjoyed reading your "old timer" posts - you go back a lot further as a Town fan than l - and l'm sure you'll agree that there was something poetic about the game in those far off days that has been lost in the money scramble of recent years... All the best to you and your family in the trials to come, and I sincerely hope that your Doc has made a mistake.

Very sorry to hear that David. You've been one of the most sane, down to earth and readable posters on this board - never angry and always knowledgable. My best wishes.

It's been a pleasure to have shared this website in the past with you David and if you get the chance make a decent one on the other side so we can do it all again one day. Words can't really say enough mate but i'm sure this thread will grow into something you can be proud of.. God bless you fella and once again thank you for adding to my life.

Sorry to hear that David.
Very sad news.
Surround yourself with love, and cherish what you have, and what you have had, for as long as you can.

David, truly terrible news for you and your loved ones. I've always enjoyed your posts, in particular the minute details you often recalled in a way all football fans remember the oddest vignettes of information.
I believe I'm correct in thinking you've lived abroad for many years but your post struck me to be filled with Yorkshire stoicism, especially the second paragraph.
I sincerely hope the doctors have got this one wrong or you defy medical science. Failing that may you and your family find peace in the coming weeks.

Like Offtopic said it's hard to know what to say.
Sorry that you have been placed in such an awful situation, I can only hope that your days are long and full of happiness and love, and as others have said hope that this is all just a terrible mistake.
Take Care.

David,
So sorry to hear your news, I will remember fondly your 'musings' as you go back further than me. You are have been lucky to see Town play in one it's best eras and to also have emigrated to one of my favourite places in the world.
As a Leukaemia sufferer in the past, I know what you and your family are going through, my only advice (not that you need it) is to stay positive, cherish every moment and surround yourself with the love of family and friends.
Although I never met you I feel I know you through this forum - you were one of the best posters.
Take care
Richard

David my very good and far distant friend your news is heartbreaking. Myself and Keith are stunned.
Our long distance friendship is one now of many years and I for one thoroughly enjoyed your " Owd Jim" articles. They have for many of us been sorely missed.
We both send our love to you Dawna, your sons, their children and most importantly to you.
Stay positive ,wake up and enjoy every single moment possible.
Leave your loved ones with happy memories and let them love cherish and spoil you .
We are coming to Canada next year and were hoping to get to visit you.So stay strong.Who knows yet what will happen.
all our love Sandy and Keith. xxx

So sad to read that. As a sensible "old timer" poster you've made a great contribution to this board. Be an awkward Yorkshire bugger and stay with us as long as possible. Peace and love to you and yours.
