Looking at this Blackpool performance so far I can only guess that the team that took the piss out of us the other week are all in Paris this evening for the balon d’or awards. How the fuck did we lose to Northampton and Blackpool? We should be 2nd now. Didn’t just lose either, we got dominated.

Blackpool looked quality against us yet sit 19th. Was clearly more to do with how poorly we played that night

Do Wigan have to put up with this “more suited to their famous rugby team” bollocks every time they give away a foul? Christ, it’s a gag that might’ve worked as a one-off in the mid-80s, not half a dozen times on a Monday night in 2024.

FA Youth cup 1st round......Salford 0 Town 1 at half time. Knocked OUT! Salford equalised just after the break then scored the winner in the 94th minute......Lets hope the senior squad fair better on Friday?

The ref for the Blackpool game tonight was the referee for Crawley v Shrewsbury a couple of weeks ago. Useless then and useless tonight, too quick to blow up and get his yellow card out. That tackle by Matthew Pennington was perfectly clean and right in front of him but he just doesn’t recognise that.

Wigan being a bit "Spursy" tonight. 2-0 up away at Blackpool, then concede 2 og's to draw 2-2.

Games in hand tonight for Bolton, Lincoln & Reading......Town could drop a few places, as low as eighth.

Barnsley who are already out of the EFL Trophy competition look to be fielding quite a few fringe players/youngsters tonight at home to Doncaster......Barnsley U21s won 6-0 in FA Youth cup last night.

This league shows that any consistency can create success.
Bottom above us, yet they had a horrendous start and lost 4-0 to us at their own spot.
That run of 5 league defeats in a row really did make a mess of our great start.

Tyler Roberts just sent off for Northampton. How come he’s there? Always thought he was alright.

After seeing us dick Bolton, I never thought they’d ever be above us in the table at any point in the season.

Donny beat Barnsley in Bristol St Motors trophy. Am I right thinking that U21 teams can’t progress? If so, we’re through, and the game v Man U is even more superfluous.
On the other hand, if my understanding is wrong, we have out first Must Win game of the season.

Good effort by Sheffield W and Stoke tonight.
The Premier league teams will be glad to get through.

We did them a huge favour, kicked their arses and made them look at themselves. Not done much wrong since 😡

Feel like we’re on a decent run, however we’re now 7th and potentially 7 points off 2nd if Wycombe win their game in hand, those 4 defeats in a row have really hurt us. Plenty of games to play but feel like we can’t afford too many more defeats after that run.

After seeing us dick Bolton, I never thought they’d ever be above us in the table at any point in the season. What it goes to show is that team we dicked 4 zip, they are now above us and we smashed them. The players and manager have to stop the woe is me, there’s so much pressure to win week in week out, and the fans are providing a weird atmosphere rhetoric. YOU (the players), are good enough to do automatic promotion in a canter. YOU (once again the players) need to get out of your heads, you just need to keep it simple… pass and move pass and move pass and move… and you will win against this division. Tom Lees, you can play football very well in this division, just start doing it, forget all the external bullshit and just play football. Your mate Pearson has your back, stop over thinking. We should canter this league.

Wycombe lost their 1st home game of the season (3-2 Brum) but since have won five in a row (L1) conceding just twice......Only just lost to Villa at Adams Park in EFL cup so I would say a point would be excellent for Town, but happy to take all three.

Edit: just tried scouring the rules of ghe competition but it's not very clear. The only restriction on the U21 teams is having to play each of their group stage fixtures away from home. Beyond that, they're eligible to go all the way - they just never have (Chelsea lost in the semis in 2018).

Town have to beat Man United U21s in 90 minutes to qualify. A draw will see Man United qualify regardless of the outcome of the penalty shootout which would follow.

It's an insult to be even playing these, glad Brum beat Fulham 9-1, joke of a competition. Its a lower league trophy competition, not a stage for Premier league to extract the urine out of lower league teams, remember the time when they had conference teams in it, should bring that back, if I'm still alive when it happens would love an ITV digital scenario to happen to the premier league.
